Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.14/day in the week to Sep 10 → 1.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Tormentum II is a dark, surreal point-and-click adventure with elements of psychological horror. Explore a hand-drawn world, solve puzzles, and make morally ambiguous choices that shape the fates of the characters you meet. It tells a new, standalone story, so no knowledge of the original game is required.

You play as David, who is building a simulation populated by beings capable of human-level thought. Every night, he dreams of a locked chest and hears a woman's voice calling to him. When an anonymous seller offers him a mysterious coprocessor, parts of the dream begin to surface while he is awake.
David installs the new hardware. He wakes in a prison on an island surrounded by open sea. Somehow, he is inside his own simulation.

David remembers little about how he arrived. He soon discovers that his creation contains layers he never designed and has a will he cannot control.
The inhabitants speak of gods, beings that come from distant places and disappear just as suddenly.
To find a way home, David must cross the islands, explore the unfamiliar layers of his creation, and discover why it no longer obeys him. Explore each location at your own pace. Conversations and puzzles gradually reveal more about the simulation.
Your choices shape the fates of the characters David meets. There is rarely an obvious right answer, and your decisions lead to multiple endings.
Point-and-click exploration and puzzles across multiple surreal islands.
Choices with consequences that shape the fates of the characters you meet and lead to multiple endings.
200 hand-drawn scenes. Dedicated close-ups bring the total to nearly 500 individual background images, roughly three times as many as in the original game.
Surreal art inspired by H. R. Giger's biomechanical forms and the desolate worlds painted by Zdzisław Beksiński.
6 to 9 hours of gameplay, depending on your pace.
A dark, atmospheric soundtrack with occasional heavier passages influenced by metal.
A complete, standalone story. No knowledge of the original game is required.

We spent almost eight years making Tormentum II. The core development team consists of two people: Piotr Ruszkowski and Łukasz Rutkowski, both of whom helped create the original Tormentum: Dark Sorrow.

Amazing sequel! I found it to be a big improvement over the 1st game. Tormentum felt like an HOG without hidden objects, and it had a fairly simple plot. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3770948486 Tormentum II feels more like a visual novel. It has a deep storyline that gives you food for thought, and a multichoice gameplay that leads to 5 possible endings with some variations depending on the choices we make through the game. Which adds a good replayability to the game if you are curious to discover every path. The game is also bigger with a map featuring many locations to explore. And the game art is absolutely fantastic and a feast for the eyes, with an amazing number of stunning drawn scenes to look at! https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3776183903 I found the puzzles fairly easy, and if you get stuck, it usually means you missed picking something up or overlooked a clue somewhere. Press Space to highlight hotspots in the current scene, to be sure not to miss anything. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3783307592 You don't need to play the prequel first, as both storylines are completely independent of each other. The game also offers one autosave and 8 manual save slots if you want to hunt for achievements without replaying the whole game. I highly recommend it, if you would be interested in playing a VN with a deep plot, easy puzzles and stunning art.

Game's so good it cured my alcoholism (spent my last money on it, now I must consume rotten fruit and hope for fermentation) I'm really glad this game actually released and highly enjoyed it! Firstly, I adore the artistic/thematic direction - combining an advanced sci-fi premise with biopunk aesthetic and baroque symbolism is a unique concept, and its execution is phenomenal. The art is intricate, stunning and offers a large variety of creative detailed sceneries, which feel even more impressive because of the ambient soundtrack. The atmosphere as a whole is very immersive and conveys the intended sentiments really well. My only silly complaint is that there is constantly a lot of smoke effect which washes out some sceneries by decreasing contrast, would've been nice if there was an option to disable it. Additionally I like that there is notable focus on the writing; compared to the first game, the world-building and characters are a lot more fleshed out and it felt like a complex coherent story, rather than just solving puzzles and searching exit. Plus the branching is more varied and leads to several endings. Achievement hunting was a bit tedious but at least there are several save slots so it's not necessary to replay from the beginning every time. Most endings were rather confusing to me, but this series in general relies a lot more on experience than plot, so I didn't mind. Gameplay-wise this game made me feel smart lol, I didn't have to look up solutions at all, only difficulty for me was having to search where to proceed. I'd absolutely love a third game but with this developing speed I might as well be a hag with dementia by then (◞‸◟)
I wouldn't recommend this game on the basis alone, that it's not as good as the original Tormentum. It somehow manages to be worse in every single aspect. The story is more convoluted, vague and confusing at times and boring due to over-explaining and exposition at other. The change of settings is jarring and comes with it's own immersion breaking problems. There are too many pointless characters, that all talk to much, which is especial noticeable on subsequent runs, where you spam LMB for minutes to get through the scene or straight up ignore some NPCs. That also includes the protagonist and calling him an unlikable ♥♥♥♥ in the game, doesn't fix him being an unlikable ♥♥♥♥. The game-play is overly interactive, which just seems to be there to pad the game-time for no apparent reason. Why do you need to zoom in on every single item or the hand of an character holding said item, before you can retrieve it? Your choices don't only seem to matter less, but every choice that is not connected to a "companion" is completely pointless and it is baffling, that the endings depend on who you bring along with you alone. The art feels forced here too, I get that the art-style is supposed to be edgy, but every second screen seems to have some skeleton, skull or straight up tiddies fused into the environment, which quickly loses it shock value and becomes mundane instead. Also, the wall-tiddies aren't even that good, which is a shame, because all actual female characters have apparently scarified their tiddies, so that the walls can have some instead. The map is a neat addition I guess, at least until the game makes you stop using it... It's been a good ten years, so I really had to check if the original was actually that good first and the original still holds up! While Tormentum 2 is just not good when it's not compared to the original either.
this (together with tormentum1 which i played mobile) is by far the most beautiful point&click i have ever seen in my life (every single detail, every item, every clothing, every entity, not to mention the stunning worlds & metaworlds) tormentum 1 & 2 are also basically the only games (besides scorn & necrophosis) that master this artstyle - nothing comparable else out there (seek for urself - there r a few more but they dont match that perfection like the above mentioned) this part2 now takes initial place in a 'real' (future) world, with strange, visionary dreams.. i very looking forward to this work of love (the german text translation is very good)
More interesting reviews on Fenol Baron Approves Curator Page
We’ve been waiting for this, and the moment has finally arrived. The long-awaited sequel to that stunningly beautiful, dark adventure is out; it’s significantly expanded and offers more flexibility in certain areas. The game’s opening is a bit sluggish, which doesn't really help the atmosphere, but once things get going, it’s impossible to tear yourself away. The plot is much clearer than in the first game; while this allows for a deeper emotional connection, it also sacrifices some of that mystical ambiguity, that eerie sense of mystery that defined the original. The puzzles are excellent, none of them feel silly, they can all be solved through your own intuition, and they fit organically into the game's universe; it’s a real joy. The visuals and sound design are top-notch. Multiple endings, determined by subtle choices made throughout the game, offer great replayability. I really appreciated the game design: locations open up gradually, so you aren't left wandering aimlessly in the dark, you generally always know what your objective is. Overall, I’m very pleased, it’s a high-quality adventure crafted by just two people, and it was well worth the wait. Now, if only we could get a new game about the princess...
Absolutely phenomenal follow-up to Tormentum Dark Sorrow, easiest purchase of my life.
Very interesting game with some good story and interesting characters and background. Some puzzles seems easy but others can hard. Some places to interact can be hard to see but pressing space button helps. Gameplay of the game: https://youtu.be/tDSTeliJy9M
This game's predecessor, "Tormentum - Dark Sorrow" stayed with me since I first saw it back in 2015, in a strange way I can't quite explain. I added the sequel to my wishlist in 2021, when it still said "Coming Soon" and there had been no news for a long long while, in the vain hope that I would one day get to play it... imagine my delight and surprise when I noticed about a month ago it had a release date! And now here we are! Since release yesterday, I have played Tormentum II all the way through multiple times, making all the choices I could find (and collected all the achievements in the process, like the completionist gremlin that I am haha). It's more than worthy as a successor to the first game – bigger, more elaborate, just as gorgeously designed and with some really cool moments throughout. The characters are a collection of oddballs, often grotesque and rarely talking in anything but riddles, which I thoroughly enjoy. I was entertained by the puzzles, and while I got stuck (and a bit frustrated) several times, it wasn't enough to stop me in the end. The soundtrack also bears mentioning (especially the song we get to hear on the record player, which as a native German speaker I was very pleasantly startled by), very moody and atmospheric!
I have been excitedly waiting for this game since playing the first Tormentum! When I saw it had a release date (later that day!) I was very excited and quickly purchased it! I am a few hours in and I am enthralled by the art direction and story. The gameplay is very smooth and the puzzles are interesting. Very excited to see where the game goes and I highly recommend it to people who enjoy Point and Clicks and Dark Fantasy games!!
