I've never played a game that takes place in Cuba, the only one I can think of was that one mission from Black Op's 1. While it fails to feel totally authentic to the landscape of Cuba it was an interesting locale at least to explore. Still your gunna need mods again like the base game to make this an enjoyable experience.
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon® Island Thunder™ transports players to the dense jungles and rugged mountains of Cuba, delivering an engaging tactical shooter expansion that builds on the original game’s strengths. With a focus on stealth, coordination, and squad-based tactics, Island Thunder challenges players to dismantle a powerful insurgent network amid challenging terrain and hostile environments. The level design is one of the expansion’s strongest points. The lush jungle settings are beautifully rendered and offer multiple pathways and strategic vantage points. Navigating through thick foliage and uneven terrain requires careful planning and stealth, making every mission feel like a true special forces operation. Gameplay remains rooted in realistic squad tactics, emphasizing cover, communication, and precision. The AI teammates perform well, but the game shines when playing cooperatively, allowing players to coordinate assaults and reconnaissance for maximum effectiveness. New weapons and vehicles add variety and adaptability, letting players tailor their loadouts to match mission demands. The sound design complements the immersive atmosphere, from the rustling of leaves to the distant chatter of enemies, heightening tension and realism. Though it doesn’t dramatically innovate beyond the core Ghost Recon formula, Island Thunder offers solid, methodical gameplay that rewards patience and tactical thinking. Fans of realistic military shooters will find plenty to enjoy in this dense and atmospheric expansion. Rating: 8/10
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Island Thunder –
What these scenarios lack in creative inspiration, they more than make up for in strategy and gameplay design. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3514871811
The best of the series. The improved AI combined with the jungle setting ups the stakes. You must buy all three if you get OG Ghost Recon.
It's a very fun expansion for Ghost Recon; it basically reskins the game into a Caribbean/Cuban setting, yet it still feels like something new.
very cool game
