About
Petunia's Purgatory is an idle farming game that lives at the bottom of your screen. Unlike other Idler games, your desktop becomes part of the experience as the farm keeps growing, waiting, and quietly getting worse.
Grow unusual crops, care for your farm, and make offerings to something lurking in the barn.
Keep Petunia sane as her reality begins to slip... before her hallucinations spill onto your screen.
Your landlord is ancient, voracious, and lives twenty feet from your front door. Keep it fed or find out what happens when you don't.
Plant dozens of twisted, unsettling crops, each stranger than the last, each craved by something older than memory. Deliver them to the Eldritch beast that calls your barn home.
Summon cute but creepy helpers to till, harvest, and haul. Unlock and upgrade unique helpers with special abilities to improve speed, efficiency, and the way your cursed farm operates.
Attract mutated animals to your farm. Slaughter them for blood, a vital resource that keeps the harvest cycle turning.
Cook and craft raw produce into prepared offerings. A feast worthy of an Elder God takes time, care, and a strong stomach.
Plant flowers and decorate your farm to maintain Petunia's sanity. Beauty is the only thing standing between her and a full breakdown.
The Elder God plays games. Let your sanity slip too far, and the hallucinations will begin... and they will not be friendly.
When sanity falls too low, the farm becomes harder to ignore as hallucinations interrupt your screen and disrupt the quiet routine. Restore calm with flowers and decorations before Petunia fully loses control.
Balance is survival. Push the harvest too hard and Petunia breaks. Neglect it and something far worse
happens.
Petunia's Purgatory doesn't demand your full attention. It quietly waits at the bottom of your screen while you get on with your day. Check in when you want. The farm keeps going when you don't.
Desktop overlay idle gameplay: the game runs beneath your other windows, always there, never demanding.
Fully customizable display scale: scale it down when you need to focus, and expand it when you're ready to tend the harvest.
Idle-friendly design: progress happens in the background. The god is patient. It has been waiting a very long time.

Come for the crops, stay for the sacrifices! Petunia's Purgatory pulls off something tricky: it's genuinely cute and genuinely unsettling at the same time. The soft graphics and cozy theme lure you in, and then the animal sacrifices remind you what you've signed up for. It works. What I appreciate most is how it respects my time. It's made for short bursts, so I can check in, do a little planting, and get back to my day without the game ever pressuring me to stay. The bell that tells you rewards are ready is a small thing, but it's a smart one; a gentle nudge instead of a nag. If you like your farming sims with a side of existential dread, don't sleep on this one.
I have only played the standard farm so far, so I will tailor my review to suit that. This has the same format as other idle games, but it's definitely not the same! There's slight differences, and the vibe is very cute. That being said, this is an idle game. I put idle games on while I work, because they're not supposed to require much interaction, and this game doesn't have a way to automate seed planting, which makes it difficult to focus on work because I have to keep checking the game and going back to it. Managing the sanity was confusing at first but it is becoming easier as I go. The hallucinations on screen is why I wanted this game to begin with, so I love seeing them and it's almost not worth it to keep the sanity meter up because I like the gam breaking! I will update my review as I play the farm types!
This game is a lot of fun. A light creepy farming game that works while I'm working? Heck yes. It's super funny to be staring at a spreadsheet that is suddenly covered in bugs. Oh, petunia. I've been following this one for a while and I couldn't believe how cheap it is. Absolute steal, polished and perfect premise. Recommended.
Its a fun game to relax with while you do work or just watching movies on pc. I like the insanity events that happen. Would recommend.
Petunia is an incredibly addictive idle game that hooked me instantly. While it shares some DNA with Rusty's, it brings its own unique personality to the table thanks to the brilliant sanity system. This mechanic acts as a fantastic balance, preventing mindless idling by pausing the game and adding great, immersive on-screen visual effects when madness sets in. It's a fresh, surprising, and deeply engaging twist on the genre.
This is a great game to play while working. I love the vibes and its very satisfying to watch the sprites tending my farm.
I picked the game up after seeing it on stream, the trailer got my attention. I didn't realise that the sanity drops so quickly and I thought I had gone crazy when my cursor was acting up. Good one haha. The music is super chill, I had to rack my brain as I thought one of the tracks was a mix of Make You Feel That Way. Happily bought the supporter pack, and I would love to see some more decorations added, as I filled my farm with more than one!
I can see myself putting more than an hour into this game. Love the art style and the music is a vibe.
This is pretty engrossing for an idle game, truth be told! It has a focus feature so I can set it aside without worrying too much about what happens when I'm away, but I've found myself coming back to keep tabs on everything and stay organized. The timing for everything works really well so that I don't feel like I'm waiting too long to progress more. Love the music and the full screen effects, too. I'm excited to unlock more weird little critters to my farm (for nefarious reasons)!
Petunia’s Purgatory is such a unique take on the cozy genre. It sits at the bottom of my screen while I work, so I can stay productive and check in on Petunia whenever i like. It is relaxing, atmospheric, and easy to keep running in the background. BUT do not get too comfortable. Everything feels peaceful… until the sanity starts going down 😉 The music also is amazing, the characters are nice and sooo cute A charming cozy game with an unexpected dark twist. Definitely highly recommended.
