A ghostly fusion of Visual Novel and tactical RPG, which sees you hunting ghosts as part of the Gate Keepers, a team of school friends from the Kurenai Academy. Boasting gorgeous artwork and smart strategic battles, this is a must for those who like a side order of gameplay with their Visual Novels.

I was requested this game as part of my stream, and purchased it on a deep sale! This is actually a really solid TRPG with some interesting mechanics and a lot of visual-novel esque interactions. You're fighting ghosts, in Tokyo, and usually near or at night! You help everyone from disgruntled businessmen to an Idol! If you're wanting to make the most out of it, it's gonna need multiple playthroughs or a guide, however. It's from the era of games where stuff is missable (like recruitable characters) among a bunch of other things that might not _strictly_ be player-friendly. Despite that, the stories it tells are solid and the combat is fun. HOWEVER; you will almost certainly need a third party uitlity in order to get it working properly; DxWND to be specific is what I used. Otherwise the aspect ratio and interactable sections of the game (e.g. the actual playable parts outside the visual novel bits) are utterly unplayable.
no, just no. the game literally introduces a mechanic early into the game that has ZERO explanation. The best way to describe it is that is is some sort of "perception" or "reaction" forced choice. it will show symbols that are meant to represent something, like one is a hear, one is a question mark, one i a crying eye, and one looks like a fist. I bumped into a girl and then some other ♥♥♥♥♥♥ stuckup girl showed up and started being a karen and the game was like "OK BRO, THIS IS WHAT YOU'VE BEEN WAITING FOR, HERE'S SOME SYMBOLS. NOW CHOOSE" and i was like "ummmmmmmmmm ok?" and so i picked one... and then the game gave me an immediate second round of weird symbols, a nose, a tongue, a hand, and some other ones i can't even remember right now I got ZERO explanation about this and this happened several more times before i even got to the first fight. Ok so first fight..... after some annoyingly cliche and hastily delivered poor excuse for an intro the game was like "ok so there's ghosts.. we fight ghosts, take this metal pipe which is special and can hurt ghots and take this weird ass homebrew steam deck thingy, now go play the weirdest ass looking 'game' (because i'm using the term VERY loosely) and now you have to predict how these enemies will move on this checker board and use the stick attack to try to hit them. Now the game DOES sort of give u a tutorial for how combat works.... but it is very lacking. so as it is right now, this game story feels bland, rushed, and overdone. The 'game' part where the fighting happens is absolutely underwhelming and feels like it had the least amount of resources allocated to it, I think the intro probably had more resources allocated to it, no joke. Also this weird ass unexplained 'symbol' choice mechanic that I cannot understand at all, like wtf is this. The only thing that was enjoyable so far about this game is the lady in a business suit, and two funny interactions where i accidentally hit the 'tongue' option on the girl i bumped into when i walked to her later and she commented something about her flavor/taste, and then another similar one I did on purpose on the business suit lady where she said "you can have your reward later." and that's literally it. I'm uninstalling this poor excuse of a waste of time right after i post this review.
No. No. No. No explanation, make no sense.
game does not work in 4k monitors and does not have windowed mode or other video settings, awful port of a game just made for consoles with the bare minimum effort, also the combat scene is pretty barebones despite the visual novel part being so good
buggy mess :c
