Smokey the toad is not your average amphibian. With a propane-fueled weed burner in hand, he charges into battle against a relentless force of hostile frogs in a race war that threatens to tear his world apart. It's up to him to emerge victorious and save his kind.

Toad on Fire is a top-down, arcade-style shooter that draws inspiration from a smattering of classic titles. Despite a couple minor instances of jank, there's a lot here to love: it's fast-paced, loaded with power-ups and secrets, and the core mechanics feel good and *fun* in a very wholesome, classical way. You control a toad with a flamethrower as you progress through levels wiping out enemies, opening locked doors, and destroying the vast majority of the landscape along the way. The shooting feels good, with a well-implemented strafe mechanic and a delightful move where you use a charged shot to blast yourself at enemies in the form of a flaming green ball. The sound is crunchy, explosions are satisfying and numerous, and the pace is consistent and well-measured. I had a few minor gripes during my playthrough: some levels seemed to contain no music for some reason, and it was unclear to me if this was an intentional design decision or not. Also, the collision boxes could probably be tweaked a bit to make them a little more forgiving - getting caught on the edges of very narrow passageways was a constant occurrence. Lastly, there are a few instances of insta-kill obstacles that got a bit tiresome - having to retry levels numerous times due to dying while attempting to squeeze past glowing death orbs but getting stuck on the landscape is never a fun experience. If the concept of Kero Blaster fused with Super Mario World's (SNES) world map fused with Sonic the Hedgehog's bonus stages sounds like a good time to you, you'll be in good company here. I love the bosses and i love the game of its cool 2d and power ups for your gun its just sooo F#?!ING COOLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!
Really fun game overall, well worth the price for a little game Really needs some way of telling the player in game how to dash though, because a good chunk of time was spent getting through the crushing diamond sky level without it >< Me and my friend only found out how to dash after completing the game and reading the manual on the steam page, which I feel is not intuitive in the slightest All in all though a nice shoot em up that was a blast to go through! (Also first dashless runs? lol) (For future you dash by charging your weapon and then firing while charged >>)
Gameplay: https://youtu.be/IMfqertUVWs Mal wieder ein nettes Indie Solo Entwickler Projekt. Toad on Fire ist ein, laut Entwickler, top-down retro-like action-adventure shooter. Puzzle Aufgaben, Passagen wo man Schätze sucht und viel geballer, so könnte man Toad on Fire kurz beschreiben.
This is a Great Fun Game That is Retro Styled Like Old Mario and Zelda Games and is Quite Fun Would Recommend Giving it a Try From -NotTheRealTenkoBerry
