Reviews
Time Turned by Automagickal is an indie puzzle game that challenges players to navigate through a series of intricately designed levels using a unique time-bending stopwatch. As an apprentice to a secret agent, your mission is to delve deeper into the lair of the nefarious Dr. Ineptus, encountering past versions of yourself to solve increasingly complex puzzles. The game's core mechanic involves the manipulation of time, where you must carefully observe the movements of your past selves and strategically place them in critical positions to complete each level. As you progress, the puzzles become more elaborate and demand precise timing and coordination with your time clones. One aspect of the game that may prove challenging for some players is the presence of a timer in each level. This adds an additional layer of difficulty, as you must not only strategize your movements but also execute them efficiently before time runs out. However, this element also heightens the sense of accomplishment when you successfully conquer a particularly tricky stage. The visuals in Time Turned are simple yet pleasing, with colorful environments and charming character designs that evoke a retro aesthetic. The soundtrack is equally captivating, with catchy tunes that enhance the overall experience. Overall, Time Turned is an engaging and inventive puzzle game that will put your problem-solving skills to the test. With its unique time-bending mechanic and clever level design, it offers an enjoyable and challenging experience for fans of the genre. Just be prepared to race against the clock as you navigate your way through Dr. Ineptus' lair! It's a cool gimmick but not for me. The time clones don't always do what they did on the round you made them, causing them to get killed by things that should not have killed them. Weird things happened in the level "formerly known as tweeter" like the spring hat not being enough to get to the top right platform and the Ro kept on ignoring me at the start of my second round, instead passing the top barrier somehow and flawlessly turning the corner to kill my past clone
Very fun game -- feels like Portal but in 2D pixel art. Took me just under 10 hours to complete the game so there's definitely some content to dig into. Runs great on SteamOS.
