I didn’t know what I was getting into with Time on Frog Island, but consider this my “wish you were here” postcard. Spoiler: I loved it. On paper, the concept of Time on Frog Island is almost laughably simple. You’re stranded on an island after a shipwreck and must repair your boat to leave. It’s a straightforward setup that can be completed in just four in-game days. But true to its name, I took my time, and it was one of the most memorable gaming experiences I’ve had in a while. The game is oozing with personality. Every frog and island resident has their special flair, even though there’s no spoken or written dialogue. They communicate through expressive gestures and little symbols that float above their heads, and somehow, that’s enough to make them feel like fully fleshed-out characters. I couldn’t help but smile at the eccentricities of the frogs I met. From a grumpy fisherman to a gardener with an overgrown patch of weeds, every interaction felt playful and memorable. At its core, the gameplay is a series of fetch quests. You bring one character an item, which unlocks another clue or trade, and so on. If that sounds tedious to you, I get it. Fetch quests don’t have the best reputation. But Time on Frog Island does something special—it turns what could have been a chore into an oddly satisfying cycle. Every task feels like solving a little puzzle, and when you finally figure out how to connect the dots, it’s a dopamine rush. That said, a few of the puzzles stumped me. After spending too much time scratching my head, I turned to a guide. And you know what? I don’t regret it. It helped me keep the momentum going and let me focus on what I loved most: exploring this charming island. The art style deserves a special shoutout. It’s bright, colorful, and perfectly matches the lighthearted tone of the game. The island feels alive, from its forests to the waves lapping at the shore. It’s the kind of world that invites you to wander, get lost, and discover little secrets tucked into every corner. And that's exactly what I did. But it’s not all smooth sailing. The walking speed, for example, is frustratingly slow. You can temporarily boost your movement with certain items, but those boosts wear off quickly. For a game that encourages exploration and backtracking, the lack of a permanent sprint button feels like a misstep. By the time I was chasing 100% completion, the slow pace started to wear on me. It’s a small complaint in the grand scheme of things, but it’s something that could’ve made a good experience even better. Despite its few flaws, Time on Frog Island is a game that sticks with you. It’s cozy, it’s charming, and it has a special way of drawing you into its world without needing flashy graphics or complex mechanics. If you’re a fan of laid-back, character-driven games like Mail Time or Mika and the Witch’s Mountain, this one will feel right at home in your library. Time on Frog Island feels like a reminder to slow down and enjoy the journey. Sometimes, the best adventures aren’t about the destination but about the frogs you meet along the way. 🐸

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I need to say that, firstly, I'm an absolute frog maniac, that's why I enjoyed this world with cute frogs so much. Secondly, it’s been a long time since I felt like a kid who doesn’t know what to do - and that wasn’t bad at all. Nowadays games tend to hold your hand, but here you just get some frog gibberish and pictures to guide you, and that was enough for me to get through the game. I felt like this game had some similarities to Spyro 1 vibes -especially the music and some of the frog designs. And once again, that was really cool.
Wow, I did not expect this game to hit me with feels so hard, but it did! It feels like a classic Zelda adventure sans combat, exploring a mysterious world full of things you don’t understand, and uncovering verging little stories along the way. A lovely time.
Really great game! solid experience with great magic moments. frog island is more charming. Show your plant the special things on the island is such a power writing, hits pretty hard. the character feels great to move around. I really enjoyed my time on the game. Do reminds me the first Harvest Moon game ever, where you could only carry a item at time and the chance of actually lose the item if you throw it. While I feel like there more room to explore and improve, definitely this game should get a sequence.
