If you can forgive some low budget cutscenes, forgettable story, and the lack of keyboard+mouse support, the actual puzzle-platformer gameplay is not bad, I would even say it's above average. It's not a very short game considering its genre, I would say anywhere from 5 to 7 hours. Even though the cutscenes don't look great, the levels are very pretty, the colour palette and beautiful scenery make it a joy to hop around. By far the best part of the game is the level & puzzle design, there is a lot of verticality in platforming that constantly forced me to look for ways to navigate, and it only gets better toward the later stages, except maybe for the machinery area that looks kinda generic in comparison. The game sprinkles some hidden coins and crystals throughout the stages which can be spent on cosmetics like hats, staffs and different robes. Every 45 minutes or so the game will change the aesthetic and will introduce more puzzle elements, including lots of damaging traps. It's not a very hard game in terms of platforming, for the most part, the checkpoints are forgiving and the controls are responsive. I don't like that throwing objects roots you in place, but I assume they did it so you would not walk off the edges. I actually really like the puzzles, they are kinda generic for the first 90 minutes or so, however, they do get a lot more thought-provoking later in the game.
Pros:
+ good verticality in stage design & simple but enjoyable platforming + while the cutscenes don't look great, the levels are very pretty + good puzzles, the game adds new mechanics frequently + hidden coins and currency to unlock cosmetics + friendly checkpoints
Feedback:
Why no keyboard & mouse? - I don't know what the situation is, maybe you don't have a programmer anymore, and if that is the case, hire someone, it can't be that complicated. The game does not have that many complex moves, it should support this basic feature. Lacking personality - the story and characters didn't really do anything for me here, and I feel like you were trying to make the characters cute but it just didn't work, maybe it's because the cutscenes were done kinda poorly. I would say take some inspiration from Crash Bandicoot, you can make a fun villain with little time on the screen, just need to give your characters more gimmicks. Overall Thoughts: 7/10 I want to emphasize that this game is for people that don't mind constantly pushing blocks around, it's a puzzle driven experience with decent platforming, and in that regard, I think the game works very well. The stages are beautiful and fun to navigate, but aside from that, I didn't care about the world or the characters.
Nota Final: 6,5/10 🌍➡ https://errekgamer.com/2020/09/02/elli/
At its core Elli is a puzzle game that is dressed in platforming. I very much enjoyed playing it all the way through the end which took me a little over 6.5 hours.. The puzzles in the beginning are pretty simple and there is next to no real platforming. But the further you progress into the story the more complex the puzzles get. Towards the end some puzzles span over multiple rooms which made it just the right amount of challenging for me. Yet the platforming difficulty, with a handful of exceptions, is only raised to a moderately challenging level throughout the game which I particularly liked because that way the platforming never really got into the way of solving the puzzles. The puzzles consist of different mechanics that mostly are specific to the world you're in. There are about five worlds you travel through in a linear fashion. As mentioned before there are puzzles that span over multiple rooms but the way to solve these puzzles is still linear. The core puzzle mechanic is finding keys or placing boxes/cubes on buttons to open doors. In that respect you need to use your wand to make things visible that are hidden. In many cases that is the only way to proceed. As mentioned above the platforming is not particularly challenging. Apart from the usual horizontal aspect there is quite a bit of verticality to the platforming. Mechanics include lowering and crumbling platforms as well as traps like spikes and fireballs. Particularly in the middle of the game there's also a lot of maneuvering on narrow ledges. Having said all that, I think that Elli does a good job in implementing the above things. At first I was a bit annoyed that the camera perspective is half static, i.e. it moves automatically along the way the player is moving, but I got used to that quickly. Controlling the player model was smooth and very responsive. To date there appears to be no keyboard/mouse controls, playing with an XBox360 controller worked just fine for me. The world is beautiful and some puzzle sections actually have quite a far view which provided for an appropriate amount of depth to your surroundings. The music is above average even though nothing spetacular. All in all, I can definitely recommend this game to anyone who is looking for a mildly challenging puzzle platformer, especially now while there's still a 10% release discount. But even at the suggested price of 7.39€ Elli gets a green light from me. Now if the devs would only add some Steam achievements ... trhat would be perfection.

Super petit jeu bien sympa.
Okay, it is not bad. There are fun variations of gameplay, it would really be a good basis for a sequel or remake. There are many good points in the art direction (except the opening kinematic, please remove it...) and level design is far from bad. Right now, it's a little too uneventful and the world interaction is not very deep. Although character control is good, it's still a bit rigid. It's still really honest though (not the kind which is frustrating every single second), and wouldn't be a problem if the game wasn't 100% about puzzles. The intrigue is linear with the endless pursuit of the stealer, so there is some backtracking in the puzzles but no returning back to a central city to advance quests, etc. I'm a a big fan of this kind of backtracking and more adventure/meaningful dialogues would make it more enjoyable, although I understand it's not the chosen focus of the game. I still played it 4 hours but didn't have the motivation to go further.
Nice simple platformer, suitable for children but I found it quite relaxing. Nice audio and visuals. The dialog made me chuckle a few times
Elli is a really pretty game and actually quite relaxing to play, nice story and lovely ending, great game for price, i would love it if there was an Elli 2
It's hard to believe this game only got 12 reviews, it deserves much better. So, yes, puzzles can be a bit repetitive and the difficulty is weird at times but overall I really enjoyed it. The game is very generous in terms of content; the world has been very carefully crafted and the surfacing is really pleasant. Story and overall rythm is a bit too intricate and broken but I'm hoping the devs are preparing another game with the same skillset in terms of art and a better marketing plan!
