The world of Tjikko is like being inside of an impressionist painting. There are a few objects that look realistic, like some plants and leaves, but most things are somewhat surreal. The shading is very flat, a washed out look with too much brightness and contrast. Oddly, for a modern game, the view aspect ratio is 4:3 instead of 16:9, so there are black bars on the left and right side of the screen. The sound and music are acceptable, although some sound effects have an audible hiss when they trigger. The controls for Tjikko can be customized, which is appreciated. Unfortunately, the controls are fairly wonky to get used to. For example, the control for "Menu Return" will become the run button, which also acts as a jump in some situations. There are some controls with separate buttons that appear to be repetitive, like "up" and "move forward". There are two "left" and two "right" controls. The mouse is used to change the camera angle, but in some areas, the camera controls are locked. Menu navigation is all through keys or buttons, the mouse buttons/cursor can't be used select menu items. The player has an inventory and there is a flying creature that is constantly throwing fruit down for the player to pick up. Every so often a message will appear that the player is hungry, but since Tinkerbell is always throwing food down, there is never a problem with hunger. The main goal appears to be navigating from one room/area to the next, although this is not made clear. There is nothing presented to the player to say what the next or overall goal is. The goal may be discovered quickly for a particular area, like there is a pedestal and a glowing pod can be put on it, which opens a door. Other areas there seems to be nowhere to go, but there is some trick to get past the room. Usually, the tricky areas will involve some acrobatic moves discovered through trial an error. Tjikko is a game that doesn't know what it wants to be; art, platformer, fantasy RPG, exploration, or just mysterious. It has got a little bit of all of these things, but it doesn't feel like the player is achieving anything other than getting to the next area. There are a few bugs; the character got locked into a direction that could not be changed, but a reload of the game fixed this. Fans of old school console games like Legend of Zelda (but with no fighting or other characters) might get some enjoyment from Tjikko. Most players will find it be more of a chore to play than fun, so this game is not recommended.
Cute and fun game
What a cute indie game! As I like puzzle games, I was immediately convinced by Tjikko. Sometimes I had to put myself down for a few minutes to figure out how to move forward and that's what's nice about this game: it reminds us of the hours on the old Zelda games trying to figure out how to open those damned doors! The interface is adorable and well done. It is clear and above all it respects the artistic direction of the game. Speaking of the art direction, it is really pretty. The plants, the objects with which we interact, our character, everything is consistent. And besides, I can't wait to better understand the story of my character. Maybe that's what's missing, a clearer explanation of the lore, but after all it's only the prologue! We will surely learn more in the sequel! Last little point: the texts sometimes made me smile. Don't hesitate to buy this little indie game, it will offer you a really nice gaming moment.
Cute indie game So I am the kind of player who loves to explore every corner and I had a great time wandering in that game. The visuels are very cool, you switch between between underground forest, lab rooms, windy caves and the big tower. And it feels natural even if the whole place is weird ! Speaking of weird, there is a fairy bird that keeps throwing you fruits, and it took me a while to understand I could eat them 😆 I took my time with the puzzles, some are quite hard. If I have an advice, dont look for the obvious answer, but try everything you can. Not a fan of the menu, the settings are weird. Globally a nice little game. I had a good time on it !
2/10 looks like it was made 20 years ago and its kinda laggy why do you want to get past my fire wall? use the tab key or left trigger to find secrets im guided to a podium that im not able to do anything with and a green flower hanging in the air that wont do anything ran around for 35 minutes picking up dropped seeds and eating all of them. cant get past the door
Incredibly beautiful outside world in the game. A huge variety of plants. Puzzles cannot be completed in a couple of minutes, you have to break your head! Great game in its genre, I recommend!
This game made me so happy. From its loveable characters to its great platforming, this game was simply so much fun to plays. This game was beautiful and everything i wanted it to be. Pros + controller friendly (I used both and found the controls to be crisp on both methods) + Amazing soundtrack. + The game stands on it own two feet, it has its own unique and loveable character. + All of the game is replayable to collect that last item or revisit a world to explore new areas + Some levels are fast and easy and some are extremely complex + Pure simple fun Cons + Sometimes the platforming controls can be a bit anoying (Wall jumps not going how you want them to) + The camera can get stuck on/against objects and walls, although only rarely, making for some annoying jumping visuals. + Setting menu kinda feel weird but im sure its will changed till the full game will be out ! I'd highly recommend this game to anyone who like Puzzle Combine with Exploration . It's not flawless, there are a few technical issues in the game like framedrops and sometimes graphics settings won't save, this game is still well worth your money as a lot of those things can be patched out
Music was great and captured the Environment well. Loved the Aesthetics and how the world looked. For the price there is enough game to check out a play. I did encounter a bug where i was stuck and couldn't pick up anything but restart fixed it.
