Hidden Object, Strategy, Mini Games, Time Travel, Story line - This game has it all. Interesting but same -o every level starts the same but different encounters. Different Characters but Main character is connected to all in some way. I just kept playing, it keeps drawing you in. Usually, I play awhile then come back. This one I played and came back twice I just couldn't stop.
a good hidden object game, find items, solve mysteries in a pursuit to find your father
I wouldn’t recommend it. Don’t let “Remastered” in the title fool you — the game looks and feels old, and it’s not an HD remaster. There aren’t many details about this game; my guess is it’s a remaster of something from the mid-2000s. Voice acting is awful. Puzzles are boring. And I know we don’t come to hidden object games for the story (the story and characters are also not inspiring), but the most important part — the hidden object screens are not very well drawn, and some objects are easy to spot while others are a pain to find. You don’t get any fun out of it. At least the achievements are easy, but keep in mind everything needs to be completed in one profile.

i used to obsessively play this on my ipod touch as a kid and was feeling nostalgic. tbh? child me had terrible taste. this is corny as hell and the graphics look like a potato
The music is very pleasant, but the visual quality is horrible. The object scenes are plentiful, especially compared to most HOG's out there, but it is quite frustrating to play when you're looking at a vague pixelated screen. It's a pity, because the game could actually be fun had it not been for that. It's also short, without any bonus. I bought the series on sale, so I hope the next editions are a bit more HD.
Pros: * Abundance of Hidden object scenes * Compelling Story line * Intriguing Concept * Hint recharged fast * Good Antagonist * Decent Writing * Good Voice Acting Cons: * Horrible Animation ** Mouths didn't always sync up with voice acting ** Characters Heads would constantly bulge and distort before returning to normal * ZERO INSTRUCTIONS FOR ALL BUT ONE MINI GAME * Anti-climatic ending ** No definitive solution for Antagonists problem. We must simply assume Merlin makes everything better for the Antagonist The story was good enough for me to actually finish the game, however, I've never been so utterly disappointed by a game from this company. I absolutely don't recommend this game.
Hidden-object-puzzle point-and-click story game. You have recently won an award in Physics and are eager to show your father. However, on returning home he is nowhere to be found. Instead there is a talking crystal ball and seven odd rings with which to find him, somewhere in space and time. Fix the ball (after it gets broken). Find the rings (after you drop them). Find your father. Dig through piles of crap. Artifex Mundi specializes in hidden-object-puzzle-based story games. These aren't hidden-object-puzzle things like Where's Waldo, or even A Park Full of Cats. These are story games in which you're trying to figure something out, and along the way you occasionally need a special thing, and you need to dig through a pile of crap to find things on a list of crap to get the one special thing you need. This isn't necessarily a horrible thing, especially if you like hidden-object puzzles, unless it's done horribly. If the image of the pile of crap is clear and not fuzzy and not muddy-colored, if the list of crap doesn't contain obscure items you might need to go look up to recognize, if there's some sort of hint system for when your eyes give out, and especially if there's a zoom-in option, it can be great for people who like hidden-object puzzles. I don't consider this game great. Hidden-object-puzzle games are not my go-to, but aside from that this game had issues. I thought the pile of crap images were fuzzy. There didn't appear to be a zoom-in feature. While the items on the list of crap were for the most part not obscure, it was certainly hard to recognize some of them: I'm more familiar with baseball bats than cricket bats, but I couldn't spot either one except by accident. And all I ever saw of the golf club was a thin black line. The music wasn't bad, and not obnoxiously distracting. The voice-acting for the cutscenes was a nice attempt, but the dialogue itself was tiresome at times. And the mouth movements on the characters was weird and sometimes disturbing...the first time I saw the female lead's mouth move, it made me think of a giraffe trying to yodel. Maybe there's a decent story there, but so far little I saw left me compelled to find out. At least the hidden-object puzzles could be skipped by instead playing a match-3 puzzle, though I'm not a fan of those either. And this is supposedly the "remastered" edition, which makes me cringe at the thought of what it must have been like before, some time over twelve years ago. Got it in a Humble Bundle, so likely for around US$1. At this writing it's listed in Steam at $1.49, on sale from its usual price of $15. I wouldn't pay $15, and at this point I might not pay $1 unless it was in a bundle with something else I wanted. Maybe I'd play it if they paid me instead. Maybe.
