This game has a lot of interesting ideas, but ultimately asks you to throw everything SO FAST that it's hard to enjoy it. While the game is certainly challenging in that regard, I never felt like I wanted to get better at it. It also forces you to use about half of the playspace since the front half will be taken up by the zombies crawling up the wall and over your balcony. Makes for a cramp experience. Every level has an NPC screaming at you to NOT throw ANYTHING, no matter how big, small or frequently you're throwing. It becomes grating fast.
*I had the game provided to me by the dev, but under no obligation to leave a review. Throw Anything is an incredibly fun, challenging and unique VR game that does exactly what it says on the box. It allows you to Throw Anything. Screenshots of the game do not give justice to the design when you're in VR, it's very vibrant little world you're in as you hurl object out the window at Zombies trying to invade. It'll take you several attempts to beat most levels as you discover which objects are better at knocking Zombies off the building. This game does not hold your hand, and definitely provides players with an exciting challenge.
Visual Light released a virtual reality title "Throw Anything" on Steam recently. It is an action defense title, which you have to, as the title suggest, throw anything you see at the endless stream of incoming zombies. Intro: In this game, you are situated in a room. Behind you is a bunch of furnitures and items, and in front of you, a gigantic window way where zombies climb their way up to reach you. Your objective is to throw whatever you can get your hands on, and toss them down to topple them off. This title features a frantic, pick-up-and-play arcade style of gameplay, and is suitable for play if you have a spacious room. Content: This title features 5 challenging stages, each vastly different from each other, and each stages feature their own unique bosses as well. You are accompanied by an unique NPC for each stage, presuming the person in charge of that room (for example, one stage is set in an office room, and your NPC is a secretary). As the title suggest, you will have to grab everything you see and throw them down. There are strategic elements in play too, for example, the sizes of the items, as well as their type. Picking item is just a matter of aiming and pointing at them, and hold the trigger to pull them in like a magnet, then release the trigger to drop them. Most items are meant for dropping onto the advancing zombies, while some contains a secondary function of allowing you to swing them as melee weapon, or spray/fire at them. There are barb-wired bats, golf club to take down any immediate zombie, as well as guns and fire extinguisher which you can aim and take down the zombie (simply hold trigger to hold onto the weapon, then press the touchpad to use them). Every once a while, a robot will arrive to deliver a box, which contain more items for you to toss. The bigger the items, the more likely it is to hit more zombies as it drop. Strategically speaking, you will want to only toss the smaller items when there are lesser zombies, but if there's a crowd, you will want to switch to tossing bigger items to hit more zombies per drop. Back to the NPCs, well they don't really serves much purpose, but they will protest repeatedly with a 'no' as you toss their belongings down. True to the spirit of 'throw anything', it means you can also pick them down and throw them down too, but they will return as a zombie themselves. It seems keeping them alive nets you point at the conclusion of each stage. Unfortunately these NPCs tend to wonder very near you easily, and you will almost always pick them up by mistakes when things get frantic. In addition, they could be standing between you and the items behind them, so you will have to toss them aside to reach for the items in the back of the room.As stated, each stage features a zombie boss (you will when you see them). Well, they sustain more hits and is significantly bigger in size, and they have their own tricks up their sleeves as well. In addition, there are also several types of zombies too, each with their characteristics. While the game features a simply and colorful aesthetics, don't get fooled by it. The game is rather difficult. Its very easy to get swarmed by the zombies especially from stage 3 onward. Don't be surprise if you find yourself taking several tries to clear a stage. Conclusion: You can really feel the effort from the development team, but I think there's room for improvement in this title. The mechanics is fun, and the NPCs is a nice touch, not to mention the visually appealing world, but it will be better if there are more contents to the title, such as more stages. What I personally feel could improve this title is the walking path of the NPCs (so they wouldn't block you and the items in the back of the room so much). Having the NPCs saying 'no' is nice, but after listening to it repeatedly, gets old pretty fast (perhaps the developer can add some other praises to mix things up), One thing that seems bizarre is how it seems you cannot swing the items to attack the zombie that has just climbed into the room (you will have to pelt them with item or use the melee weapon). The gameplay premise itself, is rather unique, and make use of room scale well. The game is however, slightly on the 'difficult' side, so if you lack patience or want some mindless action, you might want to look away. Strategy kind of plays a part here, as I suggest earlier in the article, so you will have to make your decision fast. The overall gameplay length of this title can run between 2 to 5 hours, depending on your skills. I recommend it to anyone looking for a challenging VR title for a casual weekend VR session with a 7.5/10.
Maybe the graphic is not high-quality, but I like low-poly game! The gameplay is much more fun than just watching. When I kill multiple zombies at once, I feel relieve from stress. Throw your NPC who disturbs you. stage 3 was quite hard but I made it! Wish there's item to kill multiple zombies at once such as bigger flamethrower If you are good at VR game, try this!
I believe low-polygon have it's own feature such as well-matched sd character and unsubstantial saturation. Throw anything include all of them in VR! Maybe the deduction point of this game is it's difficulty. I couldn't go more than stage 3. But time will solve this problem.
