The movement controls are remappable, but the game doesn't seem to use the mouse for much interaction which is still apparently hard-bound to WASD, Tab, and other keys on that side of the keyboard. If you're left-handed or rely on remapping for accessibility like me, you probably won't be very comfortable playing this. Before someone mentions it (or other remapping solutions), AutoHotKey is good for automation, but my experience remapping in games has been quite poor for the last several years. I tried looking at the config files to see if I could remap additional keys there, but when I realized that the input config seems to be XML embedded in JSON I sighed and lost interest in messing with it further.
A quest to beat up an npc. The quest giver claims they attacked them first without a reason. You can't even speak about the quest with the npc you are supposed to fight.

So, I play this game in an extremely suboptimal manner. Energy prices are high, and hence I've banished my PC to not being used, and primarily use a laptop. This means that I have to play this game on the settings of a psychopath. I think most relevantly, it lets me do it. I play on 800*600 at 20% resolution scaling. And it works. Feels like I'm playing a 90s game a wee bit. This does mean I can't comment on the intended visual style - but it's quite understandable and quite distinct even at this very niche resolution. And like my choice of playstyle, it's quite a niche game. Take packages, post them to various people across the road. Take tasks from local folk - someone stole from another, go beat them up and get it. The gameplay is somewhat basic - you walk around, you can get a pickaxe, slingshot, nice rocks to throw, but at it's core, you're just exploring. Finding people, talking to them, asking them for directions to other people or about people. Ask them about the mail you just delivered, or peek yourself. You might get robbed along the road, or find someone being robbed. From that, people will remember, people will hold grudges. I myself panicked a bit after going for the 'gamer' instinct of taking stuff from the body of someone I knocked out.. and that's robbery, chief. And there was a witness. Panicked, I made sure there were no witnesses left. And also people will pay you buckaroos for knocking out someone who eats too loudly. Why not. It's not a deep game, but there's some replayability and fun to be had - and if you're into courier type games where you just... wander, well, it's a niche interest but it'll hold you plenty. For a couple of quid on sale, I don't think it's a bad purchase.
Very chill except the killing animals part. I hope one day peaceful mode can also remove the quests that require killing animals. Love the game, I like a nature walking sim.
Cool little game to turn off your mind and chill in. The nice visual style and complete freedom of exploration carry a load of clunkiness, bugs, and missing QoL on their back. Best enjoyed if you don't expect anything from it and play blind. Buy on sale.
It's not bad, but there doesn't feel like there's much there.
Fun game about delivering mail and doing odd jobs in a frontier setting. Pretty environments and extraordinary wilderness sound design make the world feel alive and welcoming. The people are fun to interact with and, while simple, provide an experience unique to this game. I heartily recommend, especially on sale!
Gorgeous game, has a similar aesthetic to Shutter Stroll. I loved walking slowly into each new area to be greeted by incredible landscapes. The sound and music are great too, and give the whole thing a very chill vibe. The systematic interactions between the people and animals are fun, although to an extent all of that side feels like a cool proof of concept for something that could be built on in future games. It's very slow and ponderous, and sags during the mid-game because you just spend a lot of time walking back and forth. I found it worth sticking with though, and the story associated with the artifacts, telling you the history of this world, was kind of heartbreaking.
