I absolutely loved the OG game and was happy to replay this one.
Although many changes and fixes are appreciated, some aspects was changed for the worse, in my opinion. So it's a solid 4/5 for me. The good: - Technical and graphical bugs that I encountered with the og game are gone, yay - Not loosing a star because your gem was touched for a split second is a huge win for this edition. I can not tell enough how much situations like these pissed me off with the original game. Plus they basically made a gem return mechanic viable, which is a big undertaking in terms of game design. The divisive: - I didn't like the rebalancing that devs did with waves and exp gain. Part of the fun of the original game was that you could feel the power trip (you are playing as evil guys after all) when you got quick access to upgrades and rushed through levels, always anticipating for one that would be a wall for your current set of upgrades. After that you could grind a couple of levels for achievements and come back to win again and again. Here I had to grind beyond the amount that would feel fun or natural for a well balanced single player game. Even after I 100%ed the game, I'm still missing 4 levels, which I'm not willing to grind for since it's slow and very repetitive. - Introducing minions from previous biomes to a new ones is a mistake in my opinion. I get that devs wanted to have more diversity in terms of mechanics within the waves. In actuality it doesn't really make it more interesting, but damages the comprehension of the levels and biomes in general in terms of flavor. Vikings and pirates in underground mines? Sure, that seems natural...
Absolut empfehlenswert!
Pretty decent but too short
It's one of my favourite tower defence games, and I've been a fan of it ever since it released first on a browser for free back in 2010 or even earlier. The skill system is balanced, the upgrades feel thought out and fleshed out, and for those looking for a challenge - doing a level perfectly is not a walk in the park. It's the perfect game for when you want to kill some time, or just want to chillax.
It was very nice to remember my childhood, Thanks Armor Games, Now we are waiting for The Last Stand Dead Zone! 🐦🔥
