Id give it a 70% rating. Story: Its a well written story with not much choices you can do. Gameplay: Interesting at first but due to the lack classes and magic, its basically just melee vs tank vs archer. Missions: Creative at first but then no more side missions and only "kill every enemy". The game runs out of steam at the end so to say - but a nice Fire Emblem like. If the dev would make a 2nd game, id imagine that he would learn a lot and make even better games. :)
Some shockingly bad decisions in the UI and gameplay. Pressing ENTER doesn't advance the dialogue... it SKIPS THE SCENE. Huh??? Was this made by aliens who have never played a game before, and only had it described to them? This should be common sense, but to skip a scene, the player should have to do something special, something that can't be done on accident. Like you hold down a non-standard button, then you get a prompt asking for confirmation, something like that. But ENTER? The button traditionally meant to advance dialogue? Seriously? Also, I couldn't take the combat serious as soon as I found out that standing in a bush adds to your evasion. Really? Again, I have to think it was aliens that programmed this game. I don't know if you guys have ever been around a bush before, but it does not increase your evasion in a fight. If you get inside a bush, you get tangled up in it. If anything, shoving your opponents into a bush should give you an advantage - getting inside a bush yourself should be the last thing you'd ever want to do. I'm hearing lots of rave reviews about the story, but I can't trust that that would be the case, as the characters seem bland and the dialogue is just flat. Everyone seems to be a soulless NPC with zero personality. Plus one of the female characters has a side-cut hairdo which anyone outside of the alphabet crowd has been making fun of for maybe a decade now. Absolutely bizarre fashion choice, it would be like putting in a random character wearing bellbottom pants. Refunding immediately.
Fantastic game, BUT the ending will make you feel like SH*T. Conclusion : do NOT PLAY this game. More details: I loved FFT / Fire Emblem, and the mechanics of this game are enjoyable - but I would NOT play this game again if I knew what was coming. Also : I understand it's a deliberate choice from the creator of the game. And I entirely disagree with this ending choice. Thus I can't trust the creator of the game, and will not play further game from him. And I recommend you don't neither. Don't waste 30 hours of your life.
An unexpected gem from an indie developer that should have far more hype. The mechanics of the game are simple to pick up but character customisation and a plethora of enemy units (or enemy buffs) allows for in depth strategy throughout the game. A game that was clearly made with love and dedication. Very recommended
A challenging and compeling turn based tactics game. The story is interesting almost from the first moment, but even when you are just following the characters, the dialogue is funny. At first the battles seem a bit basic, with each character having only 2 abilities (active or passive). However soon enough you'll acquire unique items that give more skills, and at level 10 you can choose a class upgrade which gives more skills and opens playstyles and synergies. Very recommended to anyone that likes turn based tactics games with a grid.
If you like games like Fire emblem, Dark Deity, and Fell Seal you'll like this one too. I was shocked to learn this was a solo project when I saw the end game credits. It has a few rough edges but I never had any crashes or corrupted saves. It could use several Qol type changes and maybe better writing in a few spots but that didn't make it any less fun. Less than 20 dollars (way less with the current sale) for over 50 hours of enjoyment is a great deal in my opinion. Looking forward to the sequel.
Bought this at a very discounted price and am quite happy with this purchase. Made it to chapter 17 and had enough though. Like every turn based tactics game in existence the RNG can be frankly baffling and asinine, seeming to get worse as I progressed into the story. But that could be a perception problem on my part. Will definitely be getting the next installment, knowing full well what I am getting into.
