I played through the game three complete times to get three different endings, driven entirely by the desire to help the hotel guests escape the oppressive, homophobic policing of 1950s society. It is a deeply captivating noir story, but finishing it left me with a profound sense of sadness—largely because it makes you realize how many of the game's talking points surrounding women's rights and homosexuality are still being recycled in modern political trends and manufactured culture wars today. It is a striking, well-crafted reminder of human rights struggles. What Works Intriguing Maid-Detective Gameplay: The core mechanics of snooping through rooms as a maid to piece together clues feel clever, enticing, and natural. Great Puzzles & "A-ha!" Moments: The game is packed with satisfying environmental puzzles and thrilling revelations that keep you hooked without needing a walkthrough. Meaningful Player Choice: Your decisions carry real weight. The game forces you to make choices—both good and bad—that directly impact the fates of the people involved. Fantastic Audio & Language Options: While the lip-syncing is noticeably tailored to the English audio track, playing through the game in French adds an incredible layer of immersive noir atmosphere that I personally preferred (plus it's my first language, so bonus!). High Replayability: Seeing how the subtle threads pull apart to reveal different endings makes multiple playthroughs entirely worth the time. Final Verdict: Without spoiling a single plot point, all credit goes to the developers for creating such a brave, atmospheric, and emotionally resonant experience. Pretty good indie detective game.
It feels a little clunky at times but i enjoyed it quite a bit. And for the time period, showing the struggles of the marginalized was a good choice. I hope they do something similar in their next game.
this game was very interesting. I didn't expect it to tackle the topics it did, and i feel like the harshness in which it portrayed them was a breath of fresh air. from what i have seen there are 4 endings and it definitely has replayability, the only problem is that there is no current way to skip the cutscene you have already watched so to see new stuff and get all the achievements you have to watch all of it again multiple times, at least the story is engaging

This is so different from other games I play and I loved every minute of it. The story is not just about the mystery, it's about the characters in the story. It's about the ways that the marginalized people such as those with mental health issues and the so-called "deviants" were treated in the 50s. It's also about how society in general treats and looks down upon the not so fortunate in life, even going so far as to shame them publicly for being in debt and harassing them endlessly. Maybe things have changed since then but it's still a struggle to just live in peace no matter where you are or who you are, or it's also more likely things have not changed as much after all. Cheers for the bravery of the writers and publishers that backed this game/story. It truly is a find that I did not know I was looking for. No, I don't care about any slamming of this beautiful story by mentioning any issues I had with running the game. This game ran great and the graphics are absolutely amazing. I think I may be doing a second playthrough to unlock different paths, because why not?
