The Witness

I have way more than 8 hours as I play on multiple devices (And also Epic Games doesn't track). I have also replayed the game constantly over the years. This game is simply a masterpiece in its genre. I could go on about the philosophy and how puzzles are subjective blah blah blah but if here's some more concrete things. - It's gorgeous - It teaches you through doing - It doesn't expect you to understand everything - There are countless puzzles A $40 puzzle game, and it's worth every dollar.

(ignore the playtime, i have over 100 hours on other platforms) The blueprint for puzzle games (in my opinion). Truly every complaint people have about this game is an observation of an intentional game mechanic. Waiting, no hand-holding, no hints, no skips, "pretentious" audio logs (if you like philosophy, listen to em. if you don't, don't), etc. This game set the standard for "tutorial-free" puzzle/mystery games like The Outer Wilds and Blue Prince. The Witness is filled to the brim with good ideas and beautiful tricks of perspective. The puzzles, individually, are simple enough to be "brute forced" if you so desire, but sophisticated enough to be very satisfying when you solve them. The wider game, including its environments, challenges, secrets, and theme, is tuned to near-perfection to provide a seriously unique experience. Seriously, don't look up anything. No solutions, no mechanics, no spoilers of any kind. My guiding advice would be two things. First, be patient and understand that if you don't "get" the puzzle you're looking at, don't be afraid to leave it for later once you've found more areas, every mechanic has a "tutorial" somewhere on the map in the form of a sequence of simple puzzles that only involve that one symbol. Second, keep your eyes open and don't assume you know all the rules. This game gets creative, you might need to get creative too. If you like cerebral puzzle games like Antichamber (another banger if you haven't heard of it) and are willing to be a bit patient, The Witness has been waiting for you.

Великолепная головоломка, которая может знатно потрепать мозги. Сделано всё очень интересно и качественно. Особенно мне нравится фишка с собиранием цельной истории по кусочкам. Если подобные игр по вам, то обязательно пройдите этот шедевр.
