The Wild at Heart

Beautiful game with a perfectly whimsical story. The puzzles aren't too hard once you get used to the game's logic, but they were still thought-provoking enough to keep me engaged. Biggest complaint was that the final fight was too easy. It was visibly overwhelming but easier than encountering some mobs naturally. Biggest praise is that the green slimes look like green apple jolly ranchers. I want to eat them.

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. From the art style, story, character/creature design, gameplay mechanics, SOUNDTRACK - the dread of the sun setting! Incredible across the board. Not the first game I completed, but the first game I purchased and started playing on this account. It was bound to be something special to me.

THIS GAME IS SO ADORABLE! Story and Art is amazing! I can't believe it took me only 78.7hrs to complete this game. It felt longer... The music made it feel like I'm taking a stroll in the woods. Lots of walking. You don't have an option to run hahaha it helped me be patient and just appreciate the art. I love the little Spritelings! I got so attached that I felt sad that I finished the two modes of the game and collected all the badges. Each Spriteling has its own characteristics and you get to be creative in which ones you'll use for different areas and situations.

很可爱的类皮克敏游戏，轻松休闲，战斗过程稍稍动脑就可以是碾压，探索方面物资充沛，解谜是主要玩法但是都刚刚好不为难人，就连做收集都可以有地图提示，总而言之就是给人大脑按摩的一款游戏。不过流程设计地有些谜，章节分割、家园升级、夜晚系统这些都有些过于潦草随意，不过不碍事，也正是因为这些潦草，所以就没有高度成熟的升级系统带来的打工感和夜晚安全区带来的压迫，让放松这一点贯彻得更彻底。

The story starts off with Wake, a 12 year old boy who's ran away from home, but ends up in a fantastical land while stumbling through the woods. He ends up finding his friend Kirby, who he thought he wouldn't get to see again and together they begin a quest to stop the Never, an entity that's out to escape it's confines and reach it's evil grasp to the outside world. It doesn't exactly sound like a story you probably haven't come across before, but what makes it great is the odd characters you meet along the way, and the story touches on more personal subjects like loss and grief. Frankly, I didn't expect what I thought looked like a Saturday morning cartoon to have a deeper tale under the surface and I appreciated that a lot. From the strange creatures you fight, to the oodballs who become friends, there's just wonder everywhere. Loved the hand drawn art style, and like I said, it felt like a Saturday morning cartoon or some kind of storybook and it was a treat just exploring the world. What made that exploration better was the lovely soundtrack that accompanied the game! A nice mix of stringed instruments, piano...just a good accompaniment overall to the world the game was set in. Gameplay is interesting because you have a variety of little creatures called Spritelings that you control to help fight enemies and solve puzzles. They all had their strengths and weaknesses, some being tougher or attacking faster, while others are more fragile and can't attack certain enemies. I appreciated needing to balance how I chose which Spritelings to bring to not only for combat, but for puzzle solving. There is some frustration with the puzzle solving and combat, though. The Spritelings aren't always agreeable to certain actions, even when you toss them where they need to go. Sometimes it requires more precision than I thought necessary to have them complete a task or kill an enemy. It wasn't terrible, but on occasion when combat gets a little more hectic or the puzzles more complex it can be annoying. [B]Recommend or Nah?[/B] This is an easy recommendation from me. The visuals and story are charming, and the hidden world in The Wild at Heart is lovely.
