About
... I don’t know how I ended up here – maybe I just walked through the wrong door. But one thing I know for sure: this place shouldn’t exist. This is the Unplace.
At first it seems empty: I walk through room after room, and nothing happens. And then - as if the system switches on. I tried to run, but it became clear every time: I won’t be let go that easily. This place has one rule: face the trials.
You are trapped in an otherworldly place - the Unplace.
It wants to play with you in many different ways, even if the price of the game is your life.

Uncover the nature of each trial
Some challenges test your reflexes, others your focus, and others still your dexterity and nerves

"The Unplace" is held minimalistic, and my first complete run took roughly 20 minutes. On paper, that sounds short—but replayability is what truly keeps this game standing tall. There are countless rooms to explore, and even after an hour of playtime, I still hadn’t seen every room there is to expore. The game constantly rewards curiosity rather than rushing you forward. What really impressed me is that "The Unplace" includes everything a video game needs: a narrative that keeps you hooked, a collectible grind, and—most importantly—a gameplay loop strong enough to keep you engaged far beyond your first completion. It respects the player’s time while still giving them reasons to stay. If I had to compare The Unplace to a Ubisoft title, I’d confidently place it above any Assassin’s Creed Game released in the last 6-7 years. I played "The Unplace" just one hour after release and didn’t encounter a single bug. Meanwhile, I found glitches in AC Odyssey when I played it last year, 7 years after launch. The demo is also worth playing if you dont have 5$ in your bank account. It feels like a shorter version of the full game—nearly the entire experience, just held on the shorter end and without achievements. It’s generous, confident, and clearly made by developers who believe in their product. The only bad thing i have to add here to change is the randomiser in some locations. The selection is very wide and there are enough rooms to make a player experience the game in all of its glory. But the room with the mixed-up katana seems to apear quite frequently. In my first playthrough i had a total of 16 rooms with the same setup, which felt a bit excessive from my perspective. Adding to the fact that there are 40 rooms in total, adjusting the randomiser slightly might help maintain variety and pacing. All things considered, "The Unplace" is a strong contender for Game of the Year 2026. It delivers a wonderful narrative, an impressive degree of replayability, and a level of quality that puts many other games to shame. At a price point of around $5, this almost feels illegal—in an industry where $60 often buys you less than 20 hours of real and action held playitme. How the developers can afford to release something this good for so little is unexplaynable to me. And finally, there’s no French language option in the menu. Is there a better way to keep them out of this world? I honestly couldn’t think of one. GG
10/10
(With 3/10 given out specifically for keeping French people away from this masterpiece.)
First of all, I received this game for free, so that’s already a +1 point for this review. The Unplace feels like a funnel that blends several different games into one experience. It borrows many of the best elements from those games—such as puzzle design and atmosphere—but it also carries over some of their weaknesses, like limited guidance and trial-and-error gameplay. The result is something familiar, but not entirely refined. One thing worth mentioning is that the game doesn’t give you instructions at the start. You’re expected to figure things out on your own. Unfortunately, I learned this the hard way by dying a lot. While some players may enjoy this approach, for me it was a negative based on my personal experience. Performance-wise: chef’s kiss. The game runs smoothly, with no bugs, no stuttering, and solid overall performance. Story-wise: I honestly don’t understand it. I collected almost all the notes, but it still didn’t really click for me. Either the story is very abstract… or I’m just stupid. Probably a bit of both. The game is quite short if you’re good at it—around 30 minutes. Replayability is moderate. The developer might add more stages in the future, but as it stands right now, the content feels a bit limited. Summary: The Unplace is a decent game for its price and current stage of development. It’s not the kind of game where you can turn your brain off and relax. The puzzles aren’t too easy, but they’re not overly difficult either. I’d recommend it—at least give it a try once.

Прикольная игра помучиться и поискать в чём подвох. Нагнетает в основном обстановка, скримеров не обнаружено
A great game for the price. Lots of different rooms with various challenges and riddles. Definitely worth playing.
