About
EMOTIONLESS: The Last Ticket is a first-person psychological horror experience focused on atmosphere and exploration. You are James Anderson, a son returning to the abandoned amusement park his missing father built.

Not everything you see is real, and not everyone you see is alive. Not everything in this world belongs to it. Venture into a surreal world inspired by liminal spaces and cosmic horror.

Search for clues, find audio logs and navigate a haunting narrative without immersion-breaking combat.

Paranormal activity or something ordinary seen from another plane of existence? Some events simply can’t be explained.

Get lost, find the right path, and then get lost again. Not every hallway in this twisted amusement park makes sense… Test your nerves and your sense of direction as paths change and corridors twist.

Why not take a moment to experience the amusement park’s attractions? Just don’t get too relaxed, who knows what awaits on these one-of-a-kind rides.

There's a lot going on in this short game that I liked. At times, the atmosphere was extremely competently composed. There were certain segments that felt like I was walking through an abstract horror painting. I had to stop and just look around in appreciation several times. It's a quality I truly appreciate in anything with horror aesthetics! I also enjoyed the themes in the narrative of mental illness, generational trauma and inherited guilt. The reason I can't recommend this game? Its use of AI-generated slop assets in multiple places. There are several posters and pictures placed throughout the game that were obviously created with one plagiarism-machine or another. Seeing these broke my trust that anything else I was seeing was free of the taint of stolen labor--it was distracting, annoying. From the moment I saw the first 100% guaranteed generated asset fairly early in the experience, it pissed me off and took me out of it for the rest of the game. The kicker? There's no genAI disclosure on this store page. I never would have played the game if I saw there was. If the developers decide to take out everything generated with genAI I might recommend it in the future, but without a guarantee of this never happening again I won't be playing any of the studio's future titles and I won't recommend them to anyone else. Deeply disappointing. I hope you rectify this mistake.
I'm very perplexed at the praise around this game. Don't get me wrong, it's cool there's an indie horror game people like, but I'm truly baffled. This is almost exactly what I dislike about indie horror games. Very nearly everything anyways. First, let me give the praise where it's due because visually, this game looks great. It's got the typical unreal engine premium lighting. Large scale scenes that feel surreal and really just adds to the environment. The fog that hides things off in the distance is a nice touch. Apologies in advance because it's all down hill from here... The horror elements. By god. I will preach this all day, every day, flickering lights is NOT atmosphere. This game uses it a lot. It doesn't have settings to tone it down. Literally in one hallway, there's a flickering light, red light, and exploding lights. This game uses exploding lights....a LOT. It's an asinine "jumpscare" that gets overused. It's like the game doesn't know what else to do to be scary so it just does random exploding lights. Which would be more effective in like...a close quarter hallway where the lights are right there in front of you, but this happens all the time especially when the lights are far away from you. This game is huge. You're exploring a park, but there's really not a lot to explore. It's a lot of blank space. A LOT of walking around doing nothing. No creepy atmosphere. There's rides. You can ride them. I got on one roller coaster, slightly momentary "scare" happens. It was cool. But then that was it. It was a long ride. I got off the ride, wandered a bit and ran into another roller coaster that looked identical. It was an entirely different coaster. I rode it. You just kind of ride it. Nothing happens. The roller coaster just randomly went really fast....I don't know if that was meant to be scary or entertaining. That only works if I'm actually riding a coaster. The story is.....something. It's there. I think I tuned most of it out. I have no idea if I was meant to follow along. What's also kind of a weird choice is that the story is primarily delivered from audio recordings which the audio mix is bizarre. I cranked up the volume on dialogue and master volume, but the voice over in the beginning was VERY quiet. I turned up the sound effects and the voice was a little louder. Not sure what that's about. The game also has documents which are all in German. The main character doesn't speak a lot of German so they translate the small bits they know and that's it. You're left with a very loose partial translation of a story...which as you can imagine means you're only getting part of a story that is lost in translation. Even if the story is good, you're not going to get all of it through partial translation. There were a lot of tunnels I wandered around aimlessly. Nothing ever really happened. I heard a monster. I was willing to bet the game was so uneventful that the monster was just a sound effect...I was right. I couldn't finish this one. At $10 USD, this is a terrible value. This is 95% walking sim and 5% almost kind of sort of horror. 100% bored out of my mind.
GG!
It's an unapologetic walking sim, with aspects of cosmic horror. There are a few puzzles, but ultimately the gameplay is limited. The real draws are the visuals, atmosphere, and story. Recommended for people who enjoy a slow-burn interactive story.
The game is awesome, i really liked the atmosphere, level design and storytelling. 10/10 for me!
So this is essentially a walking simulator, of the psychological horror variety. There are a few puzzles throughout, and some fun amusement park attractions to ride. In a world that is oversaturated with games in this genre (and similar veins), it can be difficult to weed out a truly decent experience from what is quite frankly, a whole mess of slop. Well, this is one of the good ones. An original story, great visuals, audio, and atmosphere. I absolutely recommend this one, for sure. SOLID!
Do tohoto náročného žánrového prostoru vstupuje i titul EMOTIONLESS: The Last Ticket od studia X1 Games. Ten si klade za cíl zhmotnit esenci liminálních prostor a kosmického hororu do vtahujícího zážitku z pohledu první osoby.
Nice little horror game. Little bit of lag at one part in the game, but other than that it was fun!
