Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.

Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

About
The island is alive! Your newfound home will change with day/night cycles as you explore and uncover its secrets. Hunt (or be hunted by!) animals for food and an array of mythical enemies, who aren’t necessarily pleased to see you. Get quests from a Mysterious Stranger or find them washed up on the shore. Prepare to trek into a procedurally generated wilderness, with a variety of biomes, for an adventure that’s unique to every player.
Finding the perils of island life too much or just looking to share your building expertise with friends? The Survivalists has you covered! Complete joint adventures, gain loot, trade and ultimately survive together and as you and up to three fellow castaways explore fantastical islands.
If you’re in need of a builder, a lumberjack or even a soldier, the monkeys on the island can be tamed and trained to help you with everyday tasks or back you up on raids to a fanatic camp! The Mimic System means a wide variety of functions can be performed by your cheeky new friends, with monkey management becoming key to surviving the island’s challenges.
The secret to survival is to make the most of the resources around you. Whether that’s piecing together a primitive axe to chop wood or mixing up a refreshing fruit smoothie to keep the hunger at bay, you can discover recipes and expand your options across food, item or structure crafting trees.
Looking for an epic sword to hang on your hut wall or want to lay waste to encroaching hostiles? What you seek could be in one of the many temples scattered around the island. However, getting your hands on the loot won’t be easy so any would-be raiders will need to prepare for their treasure hunting escapades.

Not updated in years, now sneaky dropping paid dlc without fixing main game. don't let them fool you.
Pretty gross to abandon an unfinished game for several years to then just add another paid DLC out of nowhere. Do not buy.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 19: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

🔰SHREDVIEW🔰 - From someone who actually plays and finishes the games before reviewing. NOTE: If you like my work, please check out the rest of my reviews, I put a lot of work in these to offer the best overall description of what you’re up against. Thank you in advance! 🔷 ABOUT THE GAME & LORE 🔷 The Survivalists is what happens when you take the cozy pixel art of The Escapists or Stardew Valley and bolt on survival mechanics. You wash up on an island with nothing, start chopping wood, smashing rocks, and slowly building up your camp. The “story” is basically “survive and escape” with little scraps of lore in ruins and temples that add some flavor but never get deep. It’s a sandbox survival loop with the Escapists art style and a monkey army thrown in. It’s not a gripping narrative, it’s a gameplay experiment. The game lives or dies by whether you enjoy the grind of collecting, building, and commanding monkeys on some Dr. Doolitle type s**t. Still, shoutout Team 17, they are the ones who gave us worms. 🔷 THE GAMEPLAY 🔷 👉 GENERAL: The Survivalists is that chill survival game you can sink some hours into without guilt but it never escapes feeling like a lightweight version of bigger titles. It borrows a familiar art style by now and adds crafting, exploration, and monkeys but never goes deep enough to make the grind worthwhile. It’s fun for a few hours, then you realize every system is too simple. • The monkey system is its signature mechanic: you train monkeys to copy your actions and automate tasks. On paper it’s genius. In practice, it’s meh. Monkeys bug out, stop working, or half-complete jobs so you spend as much time managing them as you save. Watching 10 monkeys chop wood together is hilarious but it’s novelty not depth. • Combat is laughably bad. Weapons feel weightless, hit detection is sloppy and enemies aren’t challenging, they’re just annoying. When your survival loop involves dying to cheap hits because the game can’t register a swing, it’s very entertaining It’s just a prank bro. • Crafting and building give you plenty of recipes. Organizing your base is a pain since storage is basic and crafting stations overlap into messy piles at times. There’s content to build, sure, but nothing that feels rewarding or worth the repetition after a while. • Exploration has its moments. Temples, loot spots, shipwrecks are quite fun even if they become repetition. Every “new island” starts to look like the same island, just with different loot placement. The excitement is somewhat there. • Co-op is the saving grace. Playing with friends makes the grind more tolerable, even funny at times. Solo play feels like babysitting monkeys and grinding chores, and once the novelty wears off, it’s a s**tshow. 👉 NAVIGATION SYSTEM: You’re stuck with your little map view. You’ll travel island to island, setting up bases, marking points of interest. Boats are your lifeline, but navigation is simple and repetitive. The loop of “sail, loot, repeat” so you shouldn’t get lost around here. 👉 PHYSICS & MECHANICS: Physics don’t matter here. It’s all simple collision boxes and sprite interactions. The mechanics are what carry it, but they’re unreliable. Monkey commands sometimes don’t register, crafting stations overlap, and combat never feels responsive. It works though. 👉 GRAPHICS & OPTIMIZATION: I don’t like pixel art games but this pixel-art style is charming. Bright colors, cartoony animations, simple but appealing. It runs fine with no real performance issues. Looks cozy, plays smooth. Not much to say here. 👉 ACHIEVEMENTS & COLLECTIBLES: Achievements are grindy but doable. Most revolve around building, surviving, and collecting everything. Nothing impossible, just time-consuming. Expect hours of repeating the same chores to get them all. Luckily, when I started getting really annoyed with s**t was near finishing the last 2-3 achievements. 🔷 CONCLUSION 🔷 The Survivalists is a colorful but little too shallow of a survival game. The monkey mechanic is unique, if it would work as expected it would be great. Crafting and exploration are decent, combat sucks and achievements somewhat grindish. It’s fine in co-op for some quality time and the laughs but solo it turns into babysitting simulator real quick. It’s not the worst survival game out there, it’s decent to say the least. Fun once, play it once and should be fine. 🔷 PROS & CONS 🔷 ✔️ PROS: - Charming pixel-art style. - Monkey army system is unique. - Crafting has variety. - Co-op makes it more enjoyable ❌ CONS: - Combat is clunky and unsatisfying. - Monkeys bug out and get repetitive to manage. - Exploration becomes grindy and samey after a while. - Achievements are f**k s**t chores. 🔷 SHORT REVIEW & STATS 🔷 • PLAY STYLE: 🔳 PVP 🔳 PVE ✅ ONLINE CO-OP 🔳 Online Multiplayer 🔳 SPLIT SCREEN ✅ SINGLE PLAYER • GRAPHICS: 🔳 Fire the designer. ✅ Fairly old game, what you expect? 🔳 Not great, not terrible. 🔳 Great 🔳 Exceptional • REPLAYABILITY: 🔳 YES 🔳 EVERY NOW AND THEN 🔳 NOT SURE 🔳 RARELY / ON MAJOR UPDATE / DLC RELEASE ✅ NO • STEAM ACHIEVEMENTS: ✅ YES 🔳 NO (What the f**k man?) • GAMEPLAY: 🔳 WTF IS THIS S**T 🔳 TERRIBLE ✅ DECENT 🔳 ENGAGING 🔳 HAD A BLAST • DIFFICULTY: 🔳 DARK SOULS 🔳 BAFFLING 🔳 CHALLENGING ✅ MEDIUM 🔳 WALK IN THE PARK • STORYLINE: 🔳 A WHAT? I wouldn't exactly "not reccommend it" but I have to pick one or the other to post a review. I think this game might be enjoyable for children or people who are really new to the survival/crafting genre (or just people who want to play an easy game in that genre,) but as an adult who has plenty of experience with this genre, I found this game a bit too simple. I did only play single player so I guess maybe part of the appeal is that it's a simple game that you can half pay attention to playing while you chat with your friends if you're playing multiplayer? The gameplay loop is pretty repetitive and just when I thought the game was getting started, it was over. Cute artwork and nice soundtrack, but not really suitable for fans of this genre who want a challenge.
How did this game reach and maintain >70% positive ratings? The controls are whack as ♥♥♥♥, there's little QoL, *very* frustrating bugs, and localisation was apparently handled with nothing but Google Translate. And with the last update having dropped in 2021, you know that nothing's coming to improve this game. The game isn't fundamentally broken, the game design works at least to *some* extend. Me and my mate will try to finish it, because we have bought it and found at least *some* fun in it together. However, I can not possibly in good conscience recommend this game even close to the full 25€. *Maybe* get it for the 2,50 this game sometimes goes for - but honestly, unless you're looking for games to play together with a friend, or have low standards, I'm willing to bet money that there are better games for you to play.
thanks team 17 for baiting me into spending 15 euro for a "early access" game and then proceeding to do absolutely nothing with it for 4 years straight. not even an announcement of you dropping the development of this game besides that, the game is insanely buggy in multiplayer, can be completed very quickly (took me and my friend 2 evenings to do so) has the most basic "survival" system, boring progression and is overall lackluster. the artstyle, animations and monkey mechanic is pretty good though. however, not worth buying even for the "funny" monkeys. if you were planning on buying this (which again i am strongly against), just spend it on core keeper. it might cost a bit more but it's better in every single aspect but at least escapists are doing well i guess?
Horrible company, very promising game but sadly it is just abandonware now. Can't even recommend this for 90% off.
Why the frick are you releasing paid dlc now, you haven't touched this game in years. What a load of bs don't buy this trash game.
Abandoned with a unfinished roadmap and no mods there was a announcment 15 days after this review so there MAY be hope (its now a DLC so eh)
