You have been taken prisoner and sold to a deep space testing facility. Upon arrival, you are fitted with a device forcing you to participate in their experiment. Released into a massive complex, the dark halls wind around testing rooms and conceal pieces to puzzles. There is no option but to comply.

The subject is a great and wonderful experience! There is so much detail in the hallways and rooms and if you stop to take a look at the rooms you notice the tremendous amount of detail! The game is fun to play once you understand what to do and the lore has enough to make you think about the game long after it's done! 9/10
Im at the end of the game and there is a nav lock on the door where I have to put the pannel but I cant get the nav lock off, does anyone know how to get the lock off the final door?
This game is okay, it doesn't excel unless you love complicated, obscure puzzles in a slightly moderate horror game. It starts off with some cryptic puzzles in a very dark and spooky atmosphere. It has absolutely no hand-holding, the most you get is the PA system at the beginning of the game telling you to get this or that panel working. After the initial "tutorial" section, you're on your own. The graphics are really good, it looks like a scifi space station and the design gives the player just enough to build atmosphere and hint at what to do. The audio is very sparse, occasional spooky sounds you can hear down corridors. The spooky sounds are done pretty well; loud enough that you are aware of them, but not so loud that you are annoyed unless you're stuck, which unfortunately is likely. The problem is when the player finishes the main puzzles and there's no hint to what else needs to be done. The puzzles and objectives become so cryptic and obscure that you can spend hours not knowing where to go or what to do. It's such a draw back that it can ruin the spooky atmosphere and horror to the point where the horror just gets annoying. A few hints, Check your pause menu which is basically your inventory (Nothing to click or select, just visuals) The glowing blue "home" orb is necessary at one point in the game. Just press H (Default) when you think you're there Refer to a walkthrough (There is a quick walkthrough in this game's discussions forum)
The Subject to całkiem udana niezależna gra przygodowa z perspektywy pierwszej osoby w klimatach hard sci-fi, którą na pewno docenią fani gatunku. Cóż, projekt lokacji to istny labirynt, w którym łatwo się zgubić, zwłaszcza gdy gramy w trybie normalnym i goni nas potwór. Ocena: 7/10
The dev was nice enough to give me a copy, but I may end up sending him some support anyways because this game is STUNNING. If you enjoy horror games with incredible atmosphere and music, this is one to pick up. It will bend your brain and make you think. The puzzles are just challenging enough while making you feel accomplished when they're done. And the environment is rich and textured with a lot of 'oh my god' realization moments. For the amount of content, 5 bucks is absolutely a fair price. Honestly it could be double. There is so much lore and depth to explore in what seems like such a short space, the developer did an incredible job. If you are a fan of SOMA and Amnesia and other games that make you fear what's in the dark, you owe it to yourself to become The Subject.
I hope you like to solve your puzzles under Pressure
Rather watch than read? Me too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFHrM7wV1eU The basics of "The Subject" are that you are a prisoner who has been sold to an offworld testing ship and you have no choice. Go. You run around a giant "empty" ship and attempt to solve the puzzles of the room and corridors around you. The ambiance is great and they really do justice to making you feel like you are on a cramped, winding, horrible ship. You know that stuff is going to go wrong for you pretty quickly from the bloodstains, spooky music queues and steam everywhere. When the game takes off in terms of action it made trying to do everything else on the ship much more difficult, and much more tedious. While the pressure mechanic is great, I would honestly like to be able to solve these puzzles at my own pace, with the ambiance of the ship the only "scare" factor. That being said the game is still a treat for those of you who can deal with the horror games and enjoy puzzles. If they ever implement a casual mode without the threat I would come back and play it again. Recommended! An unboxing for video games! In this video I take a look at The Subject a fascinating first person survival horror puzzle game. It's the distant future and prisoners are property of policing corporations. As a prisoner you have found yourself sold to a private scientific research company where you have just become their latest guinea pig! It's well made and very challenging to play. I loved it and found the horror aspect to be really cool especially the poor guy plugged into the TV array.... "all non vital parts were removed." Good game. Sometimes the monster is a little bit too stressful. Especially if it's frequently spawned very close.
