I was hesitant to purchase this re-release because of the many reviews mentioning crashing. I have not experienced a single crash during my first two play sessions, which were about 4 hours each. I will say that I bought this begrudgingly, and I bought it on sale. I hate supporting EA, which has destroyed the Sims franchise, but I admit that I purchased this out of convenience. There are free ways to play the Sims 2 that include all of the content, some of which this collection is missing. However, the missing content is quite minimal. This collection is only missing a handful of music tracks and the Ikea stuff pack. As for the Sims 2 itself, it's a classic game that holds up to this day. Along with the Sims 3, it's one of the best life sim games, if not the best. I actually think it's unfortunate that there is no real competition from other developers, but the Sims 2 is still a really fun experience. Edit: 53 hours in and I have experience one runtime crash. I added the trailer park apartments to Pleasant view and experienced this crash when renting an apartment to a family from the bin. This has been my first negative experience with the game since my purchase. Edit 2: I was able to prevent this crash by moving the household to the bin via the neighborhood view, then moving them back to the mobile home lot. I was then able to claim an apartment for the household. It's annoying to have to do workarounds like this, but it's not as bad as what must be done to run Sims 3 with all of its expansion packs on modern hardware. I have not ran into any other issues. I am so far impressed with the Sims 2 Legacy Collection. This is truly such a great game. It's definitely in my top 5 games of all time, and I can play it for hours.
Paying this much for a 20-year-old game and it still crashes and keeps kicking me out — typical EA.

Keeps crashing on me. EA please update and fix this!! Wish I had known before buying, I love this game so much and I cant play due to loosing all of my progress!!
this is the best sims out of the entire series as it is the most in depth out of the rest of them such as they use cupboards while cooking, you can select turn ons and turn offs and this comes with all the add ons as well so a great deal
