Dead game, dev abandoned it. Stay away
DON'T BUY! Started out as a barebones 2D view game that was trying to be like FTL with promise... For some reason they changed it to a 3D view that is horribly worse and makes the ship layout design, which was already the weakest part of the game, even more frustrating and pointless. The actual "gameplay" is a boring yawnfest in every regard. I bought this when it first came out into early access, and it seems in 2 years it's only gotten worse in almost every way.
Was a promising game but has unfortunately been abandoned by the dev a long time ago.
Cannot recommend due to the following reasons: 1) AI and NPC are not really up to snuff, the guys on your ship rarely ever automatically manage their needs or get their jobs done leading to you having to micro managing them. Even when you micromanage the still can have problems doing the action you directly ordered them to do so. 2) Early game is brutal. You will send out a lot of ships before you get one back. Save scrumming is the only way I got one back so I could start investing and improving things to the point where I did not have to save scrum to survive. 3) Game appears to be abandoned. As of writing this review game has not recieved an update in 3 months. Normally this would be acceptable, however, the dev has not been seen in the same amount of time. It appears the discussion boards go unmonitored and we have no idea what progress is being made. Game has a really interesting concept and I would love for it to get more love, however, for now I would stay away until the developer shows they are able to be more communicative.
I bought this game in 2016 and now i came back to check if anything changed. I was about to download it, but then i noticed that it's 2020 and the game is still in Early Access. Yeah, no. Just no.
AVOID Game dropped before it was publicly available on steam [it was available ealier for those with key]; Last update predating release as public; never finished. Better put your cash somewhere else. No sign of life from developer since early July [note - review is 10th october!]; Does not qualify as 'early access'; rather than 'cash-grab for abandoned game'. UPDATE 29th March 2018 STILL AVOID Due to past actions of developer this game's future is way too uncertain to warrant any support until final release [assuming IF it gets released] While major rewrite like one incoming COULD technically be explainable, what is not is both quality and frequency of information by the developers; For all intends and purposes this thing's update may be aimed to build up almost vanished hype back up to get new people to buy the product, and then drop it again. This this is too harsh on devs? They worked very hard on this opinion on them. TL:DR - Devs unreliable - wait until full release and then check the reviews.
Game was abandoned. Don't buy.
TL;DR: Developer decided to change the game from 2D to isometric 3D, botched it and ran. Game is litteraly broken. The game started out as a 2d early access game, a bit light on the content but with alot of promise. A few hour worth (2-3 long runs) before you ran out of things to do. Then the developer decided to convert the game from 2d to iso-3d but released the update before it was ready. Then after a few unnoticeable patches seemingly threw his/her hands up in the air and said fk it! and was never heard from again (this was 2018). When i now try to play the game, i will spend maybe 15-25 minutes optimizing the room layouts and adding equipment to get everything perfect. Then when i attempt to launch the game will rapidily crash, if not instantly. I have yet to actually successfully launch a new game. Upon crashing I will also lose the layout i spent ages putting together, if memory serves me right, the game used to save last loadout used after a successful launch. Sounds like fun? no? ..Well there you have it. What is ironic is that if you went on the internet and found an old pirated version of the game from before the conversion attempt, you would probably get more enjoyment out of the game than the people who actually bought it.
Right now in it's state it's unplayable. I cannot get past the ship editor (very beginning) as it says an item is missing in the engine room yet it never shows what or why. I found no fix to this. Broken game. Wait for fix or just don't buy
Sometimes you buy a game on sale and think that you're pretty smart in pulling off a good deal. Sometimes you check back in years later to find that you purchased this and are now well past the refund period. Buying early access games then doesn't seem so smart. This should probably be delisted?
