The secret of Retropolis is not only a good VR game, it's a great game overall, which is rare. I don't know about you, but the dryness of VR market made me appreciate even so-so titles (because there's nothing to play). But Retropolis is different. In the world of multiplayer shooters, ♥♥♥♥♥♥ horror games and casual tech demos this detective adventure in the retro-futuristic noir setting feels like a breath of fresh air. Gameplay is simple, but provides new point of view to the old-school adventure genre. Story is good. But the best side of the Retropolis - is art, presentation and experience! This game is comparable to the Disco Elysium and Blacksad in terms of overall package and cohesion of the playthrough. Everything is in the right place. Minimalist "low-poly" look is amazing, because it's not low poly, it's good art direction. Authors use polygons not as just building blocks, but more like brush strokes. Also every character animations are on 2-s, meaning that they're animated in 12 fps. It provides nostalgia for the old cartoons and feels surprisingly amazing in VR. Cut scenes are just gold. Effects are cohesive. This game is only a hour long, but I'll remember this hour. Which can't be said about many other games
Point & Click VR game with neat dialogues. Engaging story but very short experience. Also, the soundtrack is pretty cool.
Beautiful art, very elegant use of quill! The animations also compliment VR. I'll seriously consider playing the sequel
more of an interactive movie, but very visually cool hand drawn style
What if animated film Robots (2005) meets noir detective? You'll get The Secret of Retropolis. Or, you know, any given episode of Futurama with Robot mafia in it. Cute short adventure, highly recommend.
Great, short under 3hr, indie puzzler with a humorous, jazzy, noire style, nice art direction, and a pretty decent little story to boot. Definitely worth the admission price. Perfect game for chill, seated (or standing) experience.
有中文, 时长仅1小时. 比较短,算是试水之作. 正在玩第二部. 是站在原地没法移动的密室类解密游戏. 剧情还行, 就我感觉能给个6分,不算差也不算很好. 第二部会更长.
Altough it's a short game, i really enjoyed it. - The characters are well designed. - The music is great. - Controls dont feel jenky at all! Overall, pretty fun and goofy game (especially the gambling bot), amazingly put together by a small team. 10/10 would play again.
Very short but AMAZING game. Would be awesome to have more content. I can't wait to play Retropolis 2.
