The Scientist Battles

As a PhD student myself, this game hit surprisingly close to home. The constant failures of experiments, the long hours, and the pressure to keep going no matter how drained you are all felt uncomfortably accurate. The struggles with publications and the never-ending sense of not being good enough or impactful enough were captured perfectly. That said, the combat is just okay. It works, but it is not the reason to play. The real strength here is the story. It carries the emotional weight of hardship, perseverance, and quiet self doubt in a way that feels both haunting and relatable. Overall, a solid thumbs up from me. The gameplay won’t blow you away, but if you value a powerful and personal story, this one is worth your time.

This is a fun game. Different to anything I've played before, but it's an interesting look inside the struggles faced by some scientists as they go through their careers and try to do research, get papers published and pay the bills! I played it live on my Twitch stream and it took me about 3 hours to play through at a leisurely pace. If you're looking for something different then its definitely worth a look.
