“I’ll tell you a scary story. It’s so scary you might not be able to take it. It’s the story of the Sand Man...” This is the second title in the Strange Man series, developed by Uri Games. Unable to sleep and exhausted, Sophie wanders into a town where everything sleeps. That is where the terror begins...

I think this game is worth a try! Be advised that it is quite different compared to the first entry of this series, leaning more into fantasy than horror. Gameplay is less lineal than TCM and there are many different endings, many bad, some good. I like Sophie as a character and protagonist but I think the plot is weaker this time, probably making it go to the bottom of my top tier of the games of this series. Nevertheless, it is a good game and worth a try! And if you plan to play the whole series, then you definitely cannot skip it, or else you will miss important information (since all the stories and characters are connected)
I really enjoyed this one. I would recommend playing this one after The Crooked Man since it spoils some of the plot of The Crooked Man. This time the focus is the weirdness of the fairy world. I think it did a good job of balancing the creepiness and silliness of the setting. I do wish we got to explore a bit more of the town as there were a few buildings we never entered. Altogether, a good little cozy horror-adventure game when you are in the mood for that.
Even though it wasn't as difficult to beat this game as its predecessor, I enjoyed the plot and gameplay way more. The return of
David
and just being able to see his apartment in this game = AWESOME. I also want to thank the creator for adding the bonus scenario to see how the Sand Man experienced the interactions he had with Sophie.
He isn't a bad person at all! And it was sooo cute how he eventually developed a crush on Sophie in the happy ending :)
P.S.
Sophie was so mother in the Queen of the Night ending
Looking forward to playing the remaining games in the Strange Men series!
A second part of the strange men franchise, although probably the worst out of four. The game does have puzzles that are rather tough to solve, comparing it to the prequel, the crooked man. The story of this game is also so trippy and it's really hard to understand what is going on. It does mention that you shouldn't have expected it to be like TCM, but it doesn't make this game any better, this game is just bad, and I do not understand what so fancy do people find in this part.
ts so tuff
Jogo muito bom, as lições que você aprende no jogo você leva pra vida.
Certainly the wackiest of the strange men games but nevertheless peak
It's such a beautiful game, the story starts similar to other games of a similar genre, but very quickly becomes it's own thing - and I ADORE The Sand Man for that. I don't think the topic of childhood memories and stories gets enough attention. It evokes this wonderful feeling of nostalgia, when days were simple, and daily worries were nowhere near troubling to today. Play this game, it's dirt cheap, kind of short, but very satisfying and still keeps a tense atmosphere. Loved it 10/10
