The Rose of Segunda

One of the best otome games I have played. I have a clear favourite, but all routes were genuinely enjoyable (the dialogue is hilarious) and I ended up getting attached to all the love interests. Also hands down one of the best written female protagonists in an otome game.

Where do I begin? This game is 10/10 amaaaaaaaazing. Such beautiful art and scenery. The story line is HILARIOUS and I had soooo much fun playing it. I love the humor, the choices, the witty dialogue, and most of all, I love that it is not too wordy and excessive. It was such a blast to play. My only gripe is that we have a strange flirtation with our brother and there's an option for an incest romance route. Yes, Frederique is hot and the most attractive character but he's our brother bruh. I wish that he was like a step-brother at least or something not blood related. Hell, even cousin could work because how apparently it's kosher to get with your cousin in Europe. My only other critique would be a better ending with more explanation.

This is one of the only times when I have ever thought that [spoiler]the incest route was wincest.[/spoiler] Well played.

What a fun and warm-hearted game with many moments of genuinely captivating writing and humour. 5 main love interests, all of whom are extremely adorable. It's not hard to get on a LI's path, and there is some room to role play and choose options based on your character's personality rather than what you think the LI wants to hear. There is also a secret route available after finishing all the other routes, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend pursuing it. [spoiler] I was hoping the whole time that there would be a big reveal that her brother (or she) is actually adopted. But no, it's a true incestuous route. Ick. [/spoiler]

Frederique is adorable thank you for making him a romanceable option, I will be buying the sequel the moment it releases on Steam.

I liked this game a lot - it reminded me of another Otome, The Confines of the Crown, in the best way. The mild customization of the MC's personality was a nice touch, and the LIs were all interesting in my opinion. Worth a play

It's very adorable. I especially loved the killer bee event, it gave me quite some good laughs. The options given when the protagonist fell into the lake complement every single route, making the emotions run deeper and much more heartfelt. Very very well-thought-out and well-written. The personalities of the protagonist really change depending on your choices, which, combined with the variety of options, make the game very refreshing. I don't really like the meek routes, but the contrast to the sharp and witty girl in my first playthrough made me appreciate the effort the dev put into this game even more, and, of course only a girl with such It's a bit disappointing that I could only achieve elope ending with Charlotte. I wish the two could get an ending with both love and social status.
