The Roottrees are Dead

Excelente jogo para quem curte a série Golden Idol, Return of the Obra Dinn e até os jogos do Sam Barlow (Her Story, Telling Lies, Immortality). A localização para português está muito boa no geral, com alguns pequenos erros no pós-game (Roottreemania), mas ainda dá pra jogar 100% sem problemas.

The Roottrees Are Dead is essentially one giant deduction puzzle centered around investigating the Roottree family using an in-game internet, research, and collected clues. This also brought back some nostalgia from elementary school, as it reminded me of those logic puzzles where you had to figure out the order of gummy bears (or other objects) based on the clues provided. This is a similar style of puzzle, except dramatically more complex and far more satisfying to solve. I also really liked how the game validates your answers in batches. It gives you enough confirmation to keep making progress while preventing you from simply brute-forcing random guesses across the entire family tree. It strikes a nice balance between rewarding correct deductions and preserving the challenge. I have only completed the main game so far and have not yet played Roottreemania, but the main experience alone was incredibly satisfying. I plan to come back to Roottreemania! If you enjoy detective games, deduction puzzles, or piecing together information from multiple sources, this is an easy recommendation

This game understands one of the most satisfying feelings a detective game can give you: starting with one tiny clue and slowly watching it explode into an entire chain of people, relationships, documents, secrets, and family history. You search one name, which gives you another clue, which leads to another person, which suddenly explains something you found an hour ago. At first the amount of information keeps expanding, but eventually all those scattered pieces begin converging into one coherent story. And then you type in the final answer. The game confirms it. For about five seconds, you genuinely feel like a detective. I was able to get through most of the normal mode without hints. The Roottreemania was another story — the later sections made me use a few hints — but overall I'd put the difficulty somewhere around medium-high. Most importantly, the solutions usually feel like something you can actually reason your way toward rather than something you are expected to randomly guess. The story also holds together surprisingly well. The normal investigation already feels complete on its own, while the Roottreemania content adds another ridiculous layer of affairs, relationships, and family drama. And then there's that character with an absurd number of lovers. Every new discovery involving him somehow made the situation even more ridiculous. The Roottrees Are Dead is basically twenty hours of internet stalking fictional dead people, constructing increasingly complicated family trees, and feeling extremely intelligent whenever the game tells you that you were right. Apparently that's exactly my kind of game. Very much looking forward to The Incident at Galley House.

So I absolutely love this game! The base game is 10/10. I do agree with others that Roottreemania is a little confusing and some of hte connections big leaps. Like one of the characters was listed as "unmarried" with a child and there were two areas that could fit. However, the rubber ducky gave a hint that it was the "divorced" family branch, not just unmarried... Other than that, its a great game and I am excited for Incident at Galley House!

The game is good but its a bit too well loved for how frustratingly specific some computer search things are. Maybe it just isn't exactly for me but the wiki hopping while cool quickly became annoying

文字太多了，而且说是解密，实则全是无聊的八卦，实在玩不下去

好玩，正传比较容易，一路推过去非常解压，，但是DLC太难了，词条新闻特别特别多，还没办法用排除法猜人名，基本要靠解说或者提示才能弄出全收集

痒痒的好像要长脑子了，敲开脑壳一看：是小黄鸭！

绝！怪不得会衍生出很多类鲁特里游戏！！
