A perfectly decent free game to showcase what RPGMaker MV can do without relying too much on custom scripts. The story is interesting enough to keep playing, the combats are well balanced, exploration is rewarded, what more do you need? And it's free.

I am liking the game itself, even though I've hit a wall where I don't know how to continue. It feels like an old school Final Fantasy.
This was a really fun little game! I was surprised to find out it was free after I started playing it. I tend to download a lot of free games and leave them for later, and I guess this one has been sitting in my library for some time! The gameplay is pretty simple; the bulk of the game is spent sneaking around a secret lab that experiments on “criminals”. If you get caught by one of the sentries, you get into a battle. The battle system is pretty straight forward. It’s a fairly standard turn-based RPG system. Not a lot to say here other than it is surprisingly well balanced. For the most part, resources are fairly tight until you are strong enough to grind out a bit of money in the late game, so be mindful and avid battles as much as possible. The story is pretty good as well for something that seems fairly small. You control a young man named Dillan, a prisoner in a secret lab that is afforded an opportunity to escape. In order to do that, you need to find 8 pieces of code that will unlock the doors to the facility. The story varies pretty greatly depending on whether or not you decide to save anyone else, or to go it alone. Each new character has their own little backstory, and they all add a bit of depth to the overall experience. There are a few little annoyances that I’d like to offer some constructive criticism on. There are several points throughout the game where the game prompts you to save due to a hard fight or a challenging puzzle coming up. This is a nice feature to have, but when you die (which will likely happen on your first attempts in these instances), you have to watch unskippable exposition all over again. Some of it isn’t terrible, but a lot of them can take a few minutes, even when mashing through all of the text. It would be nice to have the option to either skip these scenes, or have the save prompt come up right after these scenes. There are a few points in the game where sentries catch you as soon as you enter the room. The most notable is during Catherine’s flashback scene. While these aren’t game breaking, they are at the very least annoying. Should probably have the sentries reset their positions once you enter the room they are in, rather than on a global timer. Small things really, but I wanted to make sure to mention them. There’s not much more to say other than this game is very well put together, especially for something that is free! If you like sneaking around, puzzles, and light RPG elements, this game is definitely for you!
Boring stuff
I Love RPG Maker. Its battle system is fun! But this game is Cool! Sadly i detected a virus and had to unistall it. Plus there Were Probubly stolen Graphics... And Plugins made by other people. and ripped sound... Just...
Played the game for about 90 min. Crashed 3 separate times during combat with some "TypeError" along these lines. Completely unplayable. https://i.imgur.com/CQUJhjH.jpg
I'm really enjoying this game - the fact that it's free is kind of surprising, given the current quality - and I do recommend people play it! (It's literally free, again, so there's not an investment if you don't like it as much as I am) PROS: Intriguing storyline, a familiar base story with some neat twists and branches. Characters are fun and feel solid Artwork is great, from overworld sprite to battle sprites to portraits (some NPC portraits feel a bit... procedurally generated but they're very minor), with some very details backgrounds as well. A lot of effort was put into making the setting feel believable and detailed Dialogue is fun and typically not overly wordy Out-of-combat gameplay involves a lot of exploration in a way that gets me excited every time I get past a roadblock Character motivations are generally believable and solid - captives want to escape, antagonist has a motivation that's logical to his personality, etc. Gameplay feels very balanced, expense of items to money gained in battle, growth of stats to unlocking areas, etc. (I do wish your active party could hold 1 more character tho) CONS Covered in the forums, some minor bugs (at this time DO NOT steal from Empoweroids, it has a good chance of crashing your game) A couple of minor typos or lines that don't deliver well Repetition of failure dialogue on hacking gets really annoying on the tougher hacks Some minor inventory management complaints that stem more from RPGMaker than anything The order in which Objectives are gained compared to when you can achieve them (Medical Room quest etc.) can feel very slow at times I'm still mad the stool isn't tall enough but w/e
