The Outlaw, The Drunk, & The Whore

Petit jeu très dur si vous voulez avancer et faire le 100%, la musique est très spéciale et passe bien avec l'ambiance du jeu, par contre il faut aimer les jeu à l'ancienne voir style flash. De plus le jeu à un système de stat très rogue like.

When I received The Outlaw, The Drunk, & The ♥♥♥♥♥, for free from the developers; I didn’t honestly know what to expect. However, it was the name of the game that pulled me in immediately, because seeing the name made me think of the old west. I can honestly say this game is extremely fun and highly entertaining and I enjoyed playing it on stream to show everyone what the game is about. When I started the game; I was greeted with one of the most epic theme songs ever for a video game. I laughed for a moment just because of the theme song. The storyline is simple, you take on one of three roles, James – The Outlaw, Stuart – The Drunk, Violet (Little Lady) – The ♥♥♥♥♥. Now, before anyone gets bent out of shape please remember back in the day in the old west this is what they referred to women of the night as. So, I do want to thank the developer for being historically correct. Anyway, you take on the role of one of our three heroes, who all for their own reason want to rob a stage coach that’s coming through town – okay so maybe hero isn’t the right word then. — However, each of them meets their own demise and end up in hell. You are then sent back to earth because the hell gate keeper has a reputation to maintain and deems the reason you ended up in hell unfit. He sends you back to earth to help him out by killing critters; which consists of… well critters; and the occasional human(s). One of the things I will point out and would have liked to see is that it did show you what each person’s storyline was and why they wanted to rob the stage coach. When I initially played; I played as Little Lady and it told me why she ended up in hell. However, it does not tell you why James or Stuart ended up in hell. It just starts the game up with them, so it should be noted that I speculate that this is the storyline for each of the characters. Graphically, the game looks great and has that retro feel to it. It reminds me of the old school arcade cabinets from back in the day; with its interface and I really liked that the developer paid a small tribute to games from back in the day. The gameplay starts off simple but becomes harder as it progresses, which I really did enjoy. A lot of the times games are made simply too easy just because people complain about it being hard. You kill so many critters per round and then you advance. I am glad about the difficulty of The Outlaw, The Drunk & The ♥♥♥♥♥; because it really did give me that old school retro vibe where the levels increase in difficulty as the game progresses. The game does use gamepad and keyboard. Personally, I found the game more enjoyable with the gamepad. (I use a wired XBOX 360 Controller) Although, the keyboard controls are not bad, it’s just again for me I enjoyed using the gamepad. The game does offer a total of nine achievements to collect but does lack the trading cards. As the game is freshly new, it could add trading cards later, but as of right now the game does not have trading cards. Overall, I do highly recommend The Outlaw, The Drunk, & The ♥♥♥♥♥ as it is very fun and entertaining, and you will not be let down.

I found this game in my backlog just recently...I must have picked it up in a sale several years ago. And it looks like it's been a few years since anybody posted about it. But it's actually a pretty nice tongue-in-cheek tribute to NES games, complete with the smallish scrolling game window and pixelated sprite movements. It's also just as hard to play. But it feels authentic and has the added bonus of original acoustic music. Not bad for a few bucks. (As you can tell from the title, it's also very irreverent and politically incorrect, so avoid if you're sensitive to that.)
