ATTENTION, ATTENTION I did NOT receive this product for FREE I actually BOUGHT it while it was on SALE And YOU should do that TOO, because it's a little GEM Thanks for listening.
Thank you very much to DXF Games for the test/review key. I am always down to try the latest Del Duio game. --- I gotta say that up-and-coming indie dev Del Duio/DXF Games has quite the knack for making interesting titles that combine new school structure with old school style. While they have some rough edges and certainly aren't for everybody, I think they are *awesome*. It's a very potent style; I can always tell when I'm playing a Del Duio game, and I mean that in the most flattering way possible. Essentially, The Outlaw, The Drunk, & The ♥♥♥♥♥ is an arena-based combat game where you upgrade as you finish levels/arenas. There are shops and different playable characters that are functionally unique. It's fairly difficult, and is a bit daunting at first. Pros: +You won't find another game quite like this one; it mixes some modern game design with old school aesthetics and controls +The artwork is charming, as always Cons: -There are many rough edges -It can all be a bit 'simple' at times, and this fact tells me that this title is certainly not for everyone Even if you don't go for this title, keep Del Duio on your radar. I know I'll pick up anything they make.
Review copy provided by developer via Curator Connect They certainly picked themselves an eye-grabbing title, but sadly nothing in the game itself is quite so bold. The three titular characters have died ignoble deaths in the Old West, but the Devil has brought them back for one last gold heist. For some reason, that involves trips out to the woods, swamps, and deserts to kill wildlife and Native Americans until a hellportal opens up to the next arena. There's no narrative to any of it, just blasting random things and collecting random things for your big, obnoxious stat page that permanently covers half the screen. Each of your bandits has their own style of play, the outlaw with his quick pistols and bowie knife, the drunk with a big, awkward shovel and pea shooter, and the lady of ill repute with a weak fan and an enormous shotgun. It's competent arena action but slow-paced and clunky, with little challenge to offer until you get surrounded and bullet-helled to death. Calling one of the characters a ♥♥♥♥♥ is about as clever as the writing gets, too, so expect plenty of self-aware deprecation and slightly uncomfortable overtones. Alternatively, you could skip this one entirely and look for a more engaging western or arena shooter to spend your valuable time on.
Lembra MUITO The Moldy Peaches (aquele casal que fez a trilha do filme Juno).

I bought it because it was cheap and had some good reviews. Wasn't expecting what I got. Simple, fun, and snazzy theme music.
Not fun in the slightest, it's somewhat unfair in the way many items tend to damage you beyond repair. Your health can be brought down to 1 hit kill by simply accidentally walking over an item that looks very similar to many others. It's a very simple game and not one I would recommend to anyone. Plus almost every single positive review got the game given for free, seems iffy That said I purchased very cheap and if you want to try it you might as well do the same.
I first played this game 10 years ago, and love it. So much so, that I wrote a review for it on -The Daily Click- website back then. Del Duio actually linked to that review in his description so you can read the full text (and see a few more screen shots) there. I gave it a glowing review, and the game still holds up: crammed with 8-bit goodness, real music, a goofy sense of humor, and legit challenge. This is a game so nice, I bought it twice. :) Wishing DD the best of success on this and his future projects
As someone who helped test ODW prior to its release, I've played a ton of this game. It's challenging and full of great humor. The difficulty from play-through to play-through can really vary a lot, as there seems to be a lot of variance in how the game spawns enemies during each play-through. It's very rewarding to get through a tight spot, though. Highly recommended, despite the rabbits in ODW being complete jerks.
