This game has been out for 6 years, and there are still massive gamebreaking easy to trigger bugs. Like opening the dossier from a computer causes you to be permanently zoomed in and then locks all movement if you pause forcing you to restart. Which the game baits you into doing by having a little pop-up saying to press tab when you locate new evidence or leads. This problem is amplified by the inability to save. You have to wait an entire hour between saves and if your game gets softlocked at any point before then you have to restart all your progress. What sucks even more is that you can't even jump back into it due to the mandatory unskippable dialogue with steve and dan at the start going on for a full 3 minutes every time you restart. I've played 4 hours so far and I've only completed the tutorial section. I plan to finish this game, but it really does not want to cooperate.
One of the worst games I've played - cost 42 bucks, but it crashes as soon as launched, once that crash has been solved, the game has almost no sound except dialogues and occasional music (same jingle used throughout the game), basic mediocre graphics, choppy animations, and confusing gameplay sometimes with little to no hints as to how or where to progress. This might be a pet project by a group of amateur devs, but the fact that such atrocity was made by a whole game studio with a team of people is just sad. I'd be ashamed to release a game that doesnt even launch and has to be fixed with some Hosts file editing even for free, but thats not all, it is sold for 42USD, which is just... wow...
This is one of those games that I really sincerely wish was good. But it's not. The controls are clumsy and the gameplay overly punishing to the point of being distracting from a fairly intricate plot. It sucks because all the elements are there to be a good game. Or at least a pretty decent one. But it just doesn't work.
si
Really interesting experience and poignant story. This game provides a very diegetic world space to play in with no objective markers or in game map which I absolutely love. Be prepared to pay attention if you want to see this one through.
Steve isn't getting paid enough for this ♥♥♥♥. Cool underrated immersive sim.
