About
The Night Shift is a first-person horror game that brings the player into a world that progressively becomes a harrowing nightmare. No matter where you are in the store, your only means of defense is to not look away.
Will you last until the storm passes?
Congratulations! You have been accepted for a job at your local department store. A massive storm starts forming as you arrive for your first shift, before you can get settled, your manager gives you a list of tasks to complete before you can leave for the night. At the end of your first night, the storm rages on outside tripping the emergency shutters and trapping you at work.
With no sign of help and nothing but your wits and your flashlight, you need to mark off all your tasks so you can at least get paid. However as each night passes, you feel something isn't right. Something is watching you... Whatever it is, it moves in the dark.
Navigate through the spacious storefront, the claustrophobic service tunnels, and eerie employee-only rooms. Complete your tasks to make sure the store is looking perfect for when the store can reopen... and you can leave.
The mannequins only move when you're not watching. Turn away or look the wrong way, and they’ll be closer than before.
Each shift plays out differently, with randomized events and shifting pacing to keep players on edge.
Search the environment for tools, keys and other useful items that may aid your survival during the night.
Navigate from the store front to the backrooms and warehouse, uncovering new areas and environmental storytelling.
Each night brings subtle changes. Dirt and decay creep into once-clean spaces, and something unfamiliar begins to spread through the store’s forgotten corners.
Investigate cryptic clues, hidden rooms and narrative fragments that reveal the truth behind the mannequins and the store itself.
Stay immersed with a stripped-down interface that keeps your focus on the environment. No clutter, just tension.
The story branches at its climax, offering several possible outcomes depending on how you choose to face the end.
Built on dread, not cheap jumps. The horror escalates gradually, wrapping around you as the line between real and unreal dissolves.

I played this game 6 months ago and really enjoyed it! Kept me on my toes at times and didn't know what was around the next corner! Excited to see there are several new updates and is out of early access now! I look forward to revisiting this game in October and exploring the new updates and game play!
I closed out of the game after playing a solid three hours of it and realized I have been clenching my entire torso the duration of playtime. What seems like a simple game loop keeps you guessing by throwing effective curveballs to even the most familiar and established elements of play. A well done ambient vibe with truly excellent sound design. Nothing sets you on edge like hearing multiple threats coming from all sides or not knowing who is truly still in the dark. Some things I noticed: It is really easy to sequence break some missions, like I did in Night Five, causing me to put a pin in my game play. Another is the flickering of the flashlight at half power. While a photosensitivity warning is provided at the start, it is still rather painful and disruptive of a core mechanic and I'd love to see an alternative accessibility feature in the future. Overall fantastic experience and I can't wait to play more!
I don't think it's a good game. This game is simply torture. It has the same controls but different tasks. I've been playing it in a boring way for 3 hours, and it still hasn't ended. It's always about doing tasks while avoiding the models in the dark, and it's really hard to find things in the dark. The game has no story and no sense of immersion. Both the protagonist and the manager are as stupid as people with dementia. I don't know how the developers could make such an outrageous game. The more I play it, the more boring it becomes. I can't even figure out what its advantages are. Compared with other horror games, it's too long, too boring, and too monotonous. The content is designed purely to prevent players from getting a refund within 2 hours. I have nothing to say about this game. It can be said to be one of the worst horror games I've played this year. Out of 10 points, I can only give it 2.5 points
So, I've been checking in on this game for a while now. I left it alone for a year to allow time to update. I just got to shift 7 and I have to say, It is wonderful. Unfortunately, I died and my save file will not launch. I hope there is a fix for this because I would like to continue without restarting. The atmosphere is perfect. There is definitely some performance issues as the game is very graphically intense but I do see the potential. 10/10 recommend. Very good horror vibes and sense of danger in this game.
100% Loved this game. Got me a couple of times with jump scares, but the overall vibe was a lot of fun on stream. Lots of NOPE NOPE NOPE moments. Will be achievement hunting.
It's a decent horror game - certainly better than many other titles out there at a similar price. But, I just didn't find it fun to run around collecting beer bottles and ash trays. Those are optional tasks, but the main objectives aren't much different - collect trash, flick breakers, stock inventory, etc. The main mechanic of the manikins only moving when you're not looking at them was a little spooky and interesting at first. It rather quickly was just annoying though, and I found myself blindly running backwards to try to avoid them. I at least liked that if you get far enough away they stop chasing you. I didn't encounter many issues. Although, I got stuck twice in 45 minutes - once due to a manikin being stuck in a doorway forever and the other due to a manikin trapping me in a corner. There's a button on the pause menu to unstick yourself, which respawns you in the office. If this seems like an interesting game to you, it may be worth checking out on sale. It didn't entertain me enough to want to replay the night when I died though, having to redo all of the collect-athon tasks.
Boring game play. Tnl1's farts are scarier than the enemies in this game.
