Not recommended in its current state. The concept of the game is great and can be enjoyable, visuals and trippy mechanics are amazing, but balancing issues, rewards, and QOL leave a lot to be desired. Most frustrating issues so far are getting armor and health obliterated by the 4-legged tree enemy which is next to impossible to take down before it catches you, choose to have it deal 99% health if not wearing armor or all armor, not both. The inability to switch to 1-handed melee weapons to swing at a tentacle monster when you are able to if you already have one out feels poorly thought out. Many situations can be combated by having multiple people(3-4) but in situations where everyone is being attacked or even split up, there is a sense of helplessness which shouldn't exist in a videogame, let me go out swinging even if there is a slim chance of survival. Upgrades on weapons are virtually a waste of tokens and I would much rather spend many more on permanent upgrades, even if it took a long time to accrue. If permanent upgrades aren't possible, allow us to use tokens on things that would be genuinely helpful on missions(armor, extra rations, bandages, more ammo) would be a much better alternative to the already existing map, crucifix, medallion, and torches, even if it did cost significantly more. Overall, the game was fun for a few sessions but is reaching a point where most expeditions are a failure because of pretty poorly thought out mechanics or a lack of balance for fewer than 4 people in a lobby. Hopefully some of these issues can be tackled while still delivering a challenging experience but with a bit more autonomy as a player.
I picked up this game thinking it would be a wonderful time with my friends. As i realized after beginning, i realized it was actually a nightmare. I was trapped inside of Stillwater, Oklahoma (where the game takes place). It was a horror game that tore me to my roots; something of which i'm not sure i will ever recover. My main complaint with the game is that i have to take a break every 15 minutes or so because every time the guy with the tentacles grabs me i have to rub one out. I also like playing as the bald guy, his shiny head and shiny persona make the game more fun. Reminds me of the good ole Chip Skylark who once said "Pillage the thought, you ambidextrous whale." Overall, would recommend. 8/10
this game cool and a new take on horror i am enjoying it and cant wait to see what's to come
Esta bien optimizado.
I will keep it simple, because I only read the more succinct reviews myself. I think this is a cool and unique take on the co-op/extraction theme. I already love the atmosphere, so I went in excited. I am happy with what I bought, and I look forward to this being a staple in my ongoing video game cycle.
played the demo it was great good job guys i bought 2 copys much love
I left the ship as an Spanish conquistador. Came back as an insane asylum patient.
I was super excited for this, and could not have been more let down... The optimization is atrocious, the combat feels absolutely awful, and there is essentially no coherent design philosophy present in any of the gameplay mechanics. Runs bad, feels bad, plays bad. One of the rare instances in my life where I've requested a refund for a game.
Really unique and fun in a genre where it's hard to stand out nowadays. The insanity effects as a concept gives it a breath of fresh air, and it's very challenging and pretty (and demanding. It might need some more optimization and bug fixes) The devs seem to listen a lot to the players, and have already mentioned that they're looking into adding more gameplay elements, so that's a big plus.
