Красивая. Интересная. Но забагованая. И пока (или вообще) без продолжения.
The Mansion, developed and published by Forever Entertainment S. A., is a first-person horror experience that leans into abstraction and psychological unease rather than traditional scares or action-heavy gameplay. It presents itself less as a conventional narrative-driven game and more as a fragmented journey through memory, trauma, and perception, using its setting as both a literal and symbolic space. The result is an experience that feels deliberately disorienting, prioritizing mood and interpretation over clarity and structure. The story revolves around a doctor who becomes entangled in a strange and deeply unsettling situation involving a young boy and a mysterious mansion that seems to exist beyond normal reality. Rather than presenting events in a straightforward manner, the narrative unfolds through suggestion—visual fragments, environmental details, and scattered interactions that hint at a deeper psychological conflict. The mansion itself acts as a reflection of the mind, with its shifting layout and distorted spaces suggesting that what the player is experiencing is less a physical location and more a manifestation of internal struggles. This approach creates a sense of intrigue, but it also demands a level of interpretation that may not resonate with all players. Gameplay is intentionally minimalistic, focusing on exploration, light puzzle-solving, and occasional avoidance of hostile entities. There are no traditional combat systems or complex mechanics; instead, the player is left vulnerable, navigating the environment with limited means of defense. This design reinforces the feeling of helplessness that is central to the game’s tone. Progression often involves interacting with objects, uncovering clues, and moving through increasingly surreal areas, though the lack of mechanical variety can make extended play sessions feel repetitive. The mansion itself is the game’s most compelling element. Each area is designed to evoke a sense of unease, blending familiar architectural features with subtle distortions that make the environment feel unstable. Corridors may loop unexpectedly, rooms may shift in layout, and ordinary objects may take on unsettling qualities. This use of environmental design as a storytelling tool is effective in maintaining tension, as players are never entirely certain of what lies ahead. The setting feels less like a static backdrop and more like an active participant in the experience, constantly reinforcing the game’s psychological themes. Sound design plays a significant role in shaping the atmosphere. Instead of relying on constant music or overtly dramatic cues, the game uses ambient noise—echoes, distant sounds, and sudden audio shifts—to create a persistent sense of discomfort. This subtle approach allows tension to build gradually, making moments of silence just as impactful as moments of intensity. However, the restrained audio design can also contribute to a feeling of emptiness during longer stretches, where the lack of variation becomes more noticeable. Despite its strengths in atmosphere, the game struggles with consistency in execution. Movement and controls can feel imprecise at times, which becomes particularly noticeable during sections that require quick reactions. The pacing is uneven, with certain segments feeling overly drawn out due to repetitive exploration or unclear objectives. Additionally, the abstract nature of the narrative means that players seeking a clear resolution or structured storytelling may find the experience unsatisfying. Even with these limitations, The Mansion manages to carve out a distinct identity within the horror genre. It does not attempt to compete with more mechanically complex or narratively explicit titles, instead focusing on creating a specific emotional and psychological experience. Its emphasis on ambiguity and atmosphere gives it a unique presence, even if that approach limits its broader appeal. Ultimately, The Mansion is best viewed as an experimental piece of interactive horror. It offers a haunting and introspective journey for players who are willing to engage with its unconventional design and interpretive storytelling. While it may not deliver the depth or polish expected from more traditional games, it succeeds in creating a lingering sense of unease that stays with the player beyond the final moments. Rating: 7/10
the game is promising but the devs seems to let the game like this. so that's why i put a negative review
Dead Game.
