I wouldn’t let my worst enemy play this game. This game is absolute torture and should be prohibited by the Geneva Conventions. The gameplay loop in this game is very simple; cut scene, cut scene, cut scene, cut scene. It’s clear the writers thought that the players of this game would be dumb so they explain everything away - making this game feel like Paw Patrol. The dialogue options not have absolutely no effect whatsoever on the outcome of the game or story and display grotesque levels of stupidity from the characters. The enemies are not a challenge to fight, they’re just bullets sponges - creating no interesting combat scenarios and no challenge on the highest of difficulty. Bosses are not just annoying, with an oddly minuscule amount of health compared with minion-type enemies. Bosses attacks happen MAYBE once or twice in a whole 60 second span, however the attacks will 1-hit you AND are NOT clearly telegraphed with laughably huge hit-boxes. It’s clear this game tried to take elements from Witcher and Dark Souls - while a soulslike in Middle Earth sounds like a match made in heaven - the RPG elements of this game are basically nonexistent, with “builds” really only being better health vs better damage. The progression is not layered, it is guaranteed the equipment you will find in the next area is just better than what you currently have. While this sounds nice and everything, all this means is that there doesn’t need to be any contemplation regarding “what do I want to use”, “what fits my play style? Fast armor? Strong armor?” No, just equip the newest thing you’ve found, guaranteed it’s just better all around. The animations in this game do not redeem it, the run of each character is so stiff that it looks like they peed their pants and are trying to make the liquid slosh around as little as possible. While this game tries to be halfway decent, it is put to shame by its predecessors Fellowship of the Ring (2002), Two Towers (2003) and Return of the King (2004), and LEGO Lord of the Rings also quashes this game into the ground. Do yourself a favor and just play LEGO LOTR. This is not a journey in Middle Earth, this is plagiarism - a smear on Tolkien’s name. This is not a a fun or challenging video game, it’s a patronizing, shallow, and crappy. I would rather have Gollum bite off my finger than play another second of this hogwash.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 2: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

One of my favorite games, with the current version of the game I've been playing with one friend and my suggestion to my knowledge is to dedicate to playing with the same group or friend, host keeps save, anyone who joins plays in the host's save file. This avoids confusion, that way when you leave the game, you don't wonder where your save went - the host's game is the save file you played on. Other than that, unlocking to 144 frames, the extra graphics settings makes for polish and small improvements that none of the other versions ever had. The game is not that long but you can play higher difficulties and the items do scale with each playthrough. You enjoy the first level's gameplay, you'll enjoy all the rest and it is one of those classic rpgs that make coop worth while, fun to play it slow and full clear for fun and create awesome builds together as you grow. Perhaps the only downside to this older game revival is that this is at its core a hack and slash - which means you use the default attack as the primary tool, with skills and passives and other interactions secondary. Accept this genre and I believe this is one of the best and the top hack and slash cooperative games so far. I've seen that this version has better item drops, runs without issues after 10 hours of gameplay with a friend, and the gems that are dropping are already as good if not better than my 2nd playthrough of the non steam versions from console. I highly recommend this, and especially if it's on sale if you enjoy hack and slash games, the combo system is straight forward but rewarding. I wouldn't say it's too easy so take your time and invest into how the mechanics and items work, search around or watch some videos, this one is a great game to immerse into and play.
This is one of those childhood games that I remember very fondly. My so called "lotr fan friends" didn't buy this when this was still sold and we couldn't play this together. I only played this alone and it took really nothing out of my experience. This is not the new kind of co-op game that is made to be played together and has no other merit. Playing alone has its downsides for sure but the game never design itself to the limit of a mechanic. Any feature you can think of is forgiving enough to let you %100 the game even in hardest difficulty. I really enjoyed the story for example. I will give a no to minor spoiler summary with my impressions: We are playing a small team of adventurers just like the fellowship of the ring. We are seeing the battlefields where we skip or never see in the books, films, etc. Of course I don't imagine this is considered cannon but I wouldn't be surprised if it was. The story is not going above and beyond to show off. It is mostly grounded. The magic system is much more prevalent than in the book or trilogy, yet it is the case for all games. I can respect that. The game is basic in its mechanics. You have 3 characters of which only the dwarf is the objectively right character to play and you are wrong if you don't agree with me. They all have their own ways in which you can interact with the same levels. For any character though, you can also have a variety of playstyles. You can pretty much express yourself with any character and you can replay the game. That is what this boils down to. Talking of self expression in-game, the combat system falls short here. Most things you do in game in terms of gameplay has right and wrong ways of playing. One good example of this is the finishers. The enemies will have yellow arrows on them when you drop them to low enough healths. When you right click afterwards you do a finisher and kill them. The problem here is, that finisher is the most efficient way in which you can kill them. Both visually and mechanically. There are a lot of other things like this that limit the gameplay. When enemies have unlimited poise and ignore your attacks in late game this gets bothersome. There are of couse a lot of other things in game, you don't just do the same combo all game. yet it feels repetitive when you finish it once. It is very satisfying for a new player but not so much for a second playtrough or a second run. I always tried to platinum this game but I got bored each time before I could do it. There is always a point where you say I've seen it all and the damage and everything doesn't satsify me in gameplay anymore. This is prevalent in all games but I am saying this to point out to all the repetition I mentioned above. This is by no way a game that is boring, I am comparing it to other giants. This is one of the best games I have ever played. Edit: Yea I platinumed it now allright. With the re-release of this game I pretty much platinumed it twice and I realized a lot I simply didn't know existed. So this is a fun game to platinum.
Good game!
haven't experienced any issues gameplay wise or with savings from what I've seen in other reviews, ust weird glitches like some armor not showing for teammates but hen they reequip it'll show their armor again. Overall great game, look forward to the other games being redone.
un vrais jeu
siisti peli
Casi dropeo.
