The Longest Journey is an amazing graphical adventure, where the player controls the protagonist, April Ryan, on her journey between parallel universes.

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I first started playing this game after already knowing some of the plot for the later on games, hearing that it's not a must for the other ones in the series but I think this is definetly a must for sure! The game is obiously, a 1999 game, although it does seem at times that the graphics team did make a lemonade out of the lemons that were handed to them at that time, and it's so easy to overlook or ignore since the story is such a good story that you're completly immersed in it. This is one of those games that aged beautifully, the jokes, the subtle nuances to the future that are so true even today, and the main plot that holds up so so well. I love the world and the cinematic universe that has been created and I can't wait to go through the rest of the triology. also W Crow

Probably a good game. Crashed my Windows 11 computer so cannot recommend
Despite being an excellent game, its Steam version is not well optimized. There are quite a few bugs and technical issues that hurt the overall experience.

The Longest Journey is an absolute masterpiece of world-building and character writing. The humor is fantastic, perfectly balanced by mature, well-handled serious moments. Even after nearly 30 years, the pre-rendered backgrounds remain stunning and atmospheric. While the gameplay suffers from the typical frustrations of the 90s point-and-click era, like nonsensical puzzles and backtracking, the narrative is so compelling it keeps you hooked. I honestly recommend using a guide for the puzzles as the solutions are often so nonsensical that solving them alone feels more frustrating than rewarding. The real draw here is the story and the cast, which are nothing short of incredible. While running a game this old on modern hardware takes some technical tinkering, it’s worth the effort. This is a full-price recommendation for anyone who loves deep, story-driven experiences.
