A solid 7.5! Overall I love the unique Indonesian atmosphere, especially the graveyard setting and the pocong, of course! Good jumpscare timing and placement. You got me dev  However, as a non-Indonesian player, I wish the developers would provide more narrative and cultural context. Art Loved the PSX graphics too! Gave me the nostalgia of the good ol' PS2 era. Kinda reminds me of Forbidden Siren on PS2 Narrative The dialogue is kinda sus, but I guess it was intended. And the ending... It's so saaad. I bawled my eyes out during my playthrough :(((((
First off, thanks to Indah for emailing me with a Key to Episode 2! With that being said, I really liked Episode 2. Compared to my experience with Episode 1, it was like a night and day difference. Going from the security camera view to first person was so much better in my opinion. My only complaint about that is the fact that the game didn't really run at 60 fps. I can't say if it was by design or if the game just didn't run too well, but it wasn't a big deal. Like I said in Episode 1, I think your dialogue system is pointless. Considering this game didn't have multiple MAJOR endings, having different text choices didn't serve a purpose. For example, when Eki's mom tells him he's dead, he says either, "You're lying" or "I'm not dead". I don't really know what the difference would be between them, but it seemed unnecessary to choose between them. I think the buttons could've been a lot simpler as well as interacting with certain things. My two main examples would be the peanut basket and the light switches on the walls. With the peanut basket, I'd press 'left click' to hold it, but if I pressed 'left click' to pick up peanuts, Eki would drop the basketball and pick up the peanuts. It seemed like the only way to put the peanuts in the basket was to have the peanuts in hand and then interact with the basket on the ground. With the light switches, I had to interact with them from a certain angle, which was super tedious. Also, some of the light switches would only turn on if I opened the door next to them, which is annoying. Speaking of door, some of your doors seemed to bug out from time to time. They would open and close on their own. Sometimes, there would even be a delayed door closing sound after I closed a door. And who knows, maybe they being messed with by the unseen ghosts in the game, but I still think it was a bug. Also, cycling through notes could've been better. Having to use the arrow keys was kinda lame, considering A&D would work just as good. As much as I liked the pacing compared to Episode 1, I wish there were moments where I had to survive from a ghost, maybe a stealth section. Episode 1 could've worked in that regard, but the camera plus the controls got in the way of that. Episode 2 worked much better, but lacked any survival mechanics. There's plenty more to say about the game, but I had a good time with it. Check my video below for my full opinion. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bJ3OJypHwsg
Just finished playing the game and got to the true ending. I have a lot of things I didn't like about the game but these are more to personal preferences since I have high expectations when I first saw the trailer online. But also I have some good things to say about it Good things, I like how it feels like I'm playing Fears To Fathom especially letting us experience the stories that has been submitted by people and the multiple endings. I know this is supposed to be a horror game but it became into a comedy game for me when I can't stop laughing at the game logic and dialogues and that's a good thing 😂 Sadly that's all I can say for the good. Now for the bad. Just keep in mind, these are my personal preferences. The graphics are not my kind of graphics but I can see why you would do it since you were inspired by games like Fears To Fathom and they have the same graphics but I feel like it doesn't make me feel immersed in the atmosphere like how the main Pamali game did but I was sad about that. This same goes with the music playing in the background when I feel it will be better if you can do like how in Pamali where you don't play any music and let us walk around and be immersed in the atmosphere when it's quiet and we could only hear like our own footsteps. This definitely would creep me out more and when you jumpscare me, it would affect me more or not have any sudden jumpscare and put in subtle creepy moments like in Pamali The true ending definitely got me. Didn't expect that twist at all and I was like "What!" and later I was like "Ahh...that makes sense from a paranormal logic" I really wanted to give this a game a chance even though I know I didn't like the graphics when I first saw the first episode but since the second episode takes place in a graveyard so I had to give it a try but I didn't really enjoy it but still a good game if anyone likes the Fears To Fathom series With that said, I will lower my expectation for the future episodes and see how they are. Excited for them!
Game nya seru. horror? dapet, Tegang? dapet, Bug? dapet. Overall, gamenya bagus, cerita bener bener sebuah plot twist putar kepala 180 derajat. IIIII TAKUTNYEEEEE!!!! aku kasih.... 69/420!
Spoopy: 6/10 Overall: 7/10 Good: * Story was predictable. But really well done. * The pacing was dramatically improved in this game. Compared to the first episode and the previous anthology of Pamali: Indonesian Folklore Horror games. * There was a Global Sound option. * Atmosphere was spooky, especially inside the houses. * The multiple endings were very well done. * You can load the game from different points in the story. This helped with collecting the multiple endings and made it feel enjoyable rather than tedious. * Had a prelude at the start to help to explain the setting and the story. Bad: * Relied Heavily on Jump Scares. * Game is too expensive. * I bugged the game a few times. I had to restart the game to fix it. * The text was a bit hard to read. This game is very much an improvement over Last Customer, the devs' previous game in The Lingering series. Starting with the graphics: I love the PS1 aesthetic they are going for, and I like their attention to detail in the environment. It was quite a treat to be looking around and seeing how they furnished everything. However, I do think the game can be a tad too dark and hard to see sometimes, maybe just have an option for brightness in the settings? Yeah, someone could "cheat" by boosting it to 200% to not be scared, but at least it's giving an option to someone who might be seeing less than you wanted them to. Sounds: Differently from their previous game, the sounds in this game were quite nice. Some creepy ambiance going in the background here and there, or a weird sound in the distance. Nothing too creepy to try to scare you, but just a unsettling enough to make you feel less comfortable in the story's location. Story: Without going into much detail, I really really loved it. While it was a bit predictable to me, to the point that I kinda figured out some details quite early, it was still very very fun to see the story develop. I'm glad that the devs allowed the story to slowly build up this time around, it doesn't immediately jump to "something is wrong here!!!". Scares/Horror Factor: I think this is still the weakest spot of this dev team's games. I think a lot of the "scares" are quite cheap or just silly, and if someone is actually scared by some of the ghostly apparitions in the way they were shown in the game... maybe they need to raise their standards a little. But I do have a few suggestions: 1) Don't take control away from the player. A few times the game stops, the camera is taken away from the player to show a scary ghost thing happening, and then control back to you. I think it'd be much better if you found a way to have the scare happen (even if there was a chance for them to miss it!) without taking control from the player AND without any sound announcing the event... if you keep it quiet and subtle, it might take the player much more by surprise; 2) Don't make the ghost run at you or jump at you or disappear in thin air... have it somewhere a little more creepy and belieavable. Maybe someone watching over you through the window that disappears, maybe someone in the bushes that moves into the bush and disappears when you get close, maybe someone behind a tree watching from an angle and when you get close they're not there. Of course, maybe the ghost can jump at you... but I feel like this kind of scares is better reserved for when you are actually in danger. Otherwise, it cheapens the atmosphere because you never feel in danger. Overall, a much-needed improvement over Last Customer. Still not super scary, but definitely very interesting. Very very excited to see what's next for this dev team, wishing them all the best!
还可以,就是太黑了,滤镜也不能调 另外如果和以前一样有中文肯定能大卖!
Simple gameplay and art style, but an excellent atmosphere and great sound design. OK I think the sound effects for the doors were broken and were delayed long after the door had finished closing, also I got stuck behind a fence at one point and had to restart the chapter. But other than that the game ran smoothly and was a mysterious and spooky time. I liked learning about the culture and folklore from the eyes of our 11 year old protagonist, and the vibes of the graveyard at night were surprisingly peaceful and pleasant. The dread and uncertainty coming from other sources much closer to home. There are of course jump scares, some of which I missed and only heard the sound effect for, some of which made me laugh, and some of which actually made me jump. I liked the story, even though I guessed the truth right at the very start, it still played out well and had an emotional impact. A very sweet and a bit silly indie horror that won't change your life but is effective in its atmosphere and setting, and worth playing.
