I like most sokpop games, the graphics of this one really hurt my eyes fast, along with the fact that you cannot save your progress and have to play the game in one play through. There is a wizard you need to do some platforming, but you can lose the wizard in areas where it is seemingly impossible to retrieve him and thus end your attempt. Overall a far more frustrating experience then enjoyable one, will not be finishing this game myself.
A nice bite sized platformer. The platforming is fun and the map is small enough to be simple but large enough without being confusing. Sadly I got softlocked on the final platforming area by dropping an item and then dying which put me at the start of the zone without the item, and to get back to that area where I dropped it I needed to have that item. I re-entered the zone and it did not come back to me, so I restarted the game and found there are no save games so it starts at the beginning. Oh well.
I wanted to like Popo's Tower, I really did. Unfortunately, every second playing it hurt my eyes, with what is easily the most obnoxious filter I've seen in a game. The platforming was unpredictable, frustrating, and unnecessarily punishing. Jumps seem impossible, then turn out to be solvable if you jump directly into a wall then run diagonally upwards. Obviously. This is not helped by the blurriness of every surface. One positive aspect is the enemy design, the first one I met was genuinely a bit spooky when it lumbered towards me with arms outstretched. Of course, I then discovered how easily it could be run around, making it a little bit less scary.
2/10 death respawns are so far back invisible walls i keep bumping well jumping from point A to point B i hate the game blur
Delightful! One of the best games they've made. Now that I've played all their games (up to a point), I think I'm qualified in saying, please please take more than two weeks to make a game.

Great controls, which is what matters most for a patformer. If you can bear the graphics, play this game!
You know, even with its moments that had me on the verge of tossing my controller across the room, I walked away from this game with a surprisingly warm feeling. The climbing mechanics are spot-on. Simple, intuitive, and just feel right. Yet, as with any game where climbing is the core, taking a tumble can be a major setback, time-wise. Many games in this genre throw the player a lifeline, checkpoints, hookshots, extra ledges, to soften the blow of a fall. Prince of Persia: Sands of Time had the time reversal trick. But here? You slip, you're starting from scratch. I’m also quite taken with how it’s structured, giving off those metroidvania vibes but on a much, much smaller scale. It leaves me wondering, was this meant to be a larger adventure at some point, or is it a testing ground for something more grand? Hard to say. Flaws and all, I find myself liking this game. Maybe it’s because of its brevity, or perhaps it's just its unique charm. It’s not perfect, but it’s got something special.
Not much story to speak of, visuals look fine in a small window but I didn't care for them in full screen, gameplay gets repetitive in spite of the short playtime, bad camera controls for both camera and character, occasional bugs, and irritating background sounds. I'm onboard with the idea of inexpensive, short games, but this one didn't do it for me.
