Solid 7.5/10 Pros : - Ambience is absolutely carry the horror aspect - Pixelated horror never fails - Nice Placement of jumpscare Cons (AT LEAST FOR ME, TAKE IT WITH A BIG GRAIN OF SALT PLZ) : - Story is too predictable - Some mechanic in game is kinda clunky and hard to understand (i might be dumb lol) - Some mini-bug if player rushing things
The Vengeful Mother English I bought this game because I really like games made in Indonesia, as they are very relatable and support the Indonesian game industry. The story is also quite interesting, we as 11-year-olds, go to a villa to visit our father's grave, but it turns out to be more than just that. Although the game is a bit short, it is definitely worth buying. Still waiting for Pamali: The Vengeful Mother.

Completed the game with 27% achievements and Finally, the Truth ending. A really cool retro style horror game where you explore haunted magnificent houses and graveyards. Strange looking ghosts jump scaring and your mother acting like shes possessed! Loved the game, a fun one!
I enjoyed my time with "The Lingering: Graveyard Visit" quite a bit. There are some issues here and there, but overall, it's a nice supernatural horror game! Though I have to admit, I spent a vast majority of my time not on the main story, but
figuring out the Caesar Cipher and the strange hidden area that I still don't know how to properly activate. You essentially get to it by completing all endings
, yes, there are multiple endings
and triggering a secret area at a specific time in the story. However, once there, nothing seems to happen? It also doesn't help that the hidden messages aren't in English and some translation software, some guesswork, and a real interest in figuring it out will be needed. To this day, I still don't know the actual truth behind the secret.
The story itself is quite nice and straight forward with a few twists here and there. There are some translation issues (very minor and inconsequential, I'm just a detail oriented English teacher) when I played, but they did not detract from the game. The scares were interesting, though only got to me on occasion. The over reliance on some sound effects gets old quickly, but I did enjoy playing through it quite a bit. All-in-all, if you're wanting a nice supernatural horror experience from a team of indie developers
with a few added secrets and ciphers hidden inside
, I recommend you check out the game!
Always been a fan for a Horror Game, with a strong narrative-driven story! I really enjoyed the atmosphere of this game ,there’s something about the way it blends eerie tension with heartfelt storytelling that makes it stand out. As someone from Indonesia, I found the use of local folklore especially engaging. It’s rare to see stories that feel so familiar yet still surprise you. The audio design fits perfectly with the mood subtle but effective, enhancing the creepy vibe without being overwhelming. It’s spooky, but not in a way that pushes you away. Definitely recommended for anyone who loves a horror games with a unique cultural touch.

WHAT A GAMEEEEE !!!!
First off, thanks to Indah for emailing me with a Key to Episode 2! With that being said, I really liked Episode 2. Compared to my experience with Episode 1, it was like a night and day difference. Going from the security camera view to first person was so much better in my opinion. My only complaint about that is the fact that the game didn't really run at 60 fps. I can't say if it was by design or if the game just didn't run too well, but it wasn't a big deal. Like I said in Episode 1, I think your dialogue system is pointless. Considering this game didn't have multiple MAJOR endings, having different text choices didn't serve a purpose. For example, when Eki's mom tells him he's dead, he says either, "You're lying" or "I'm not dead". I don't really know what the difference would be between them, but it seemed unnecessary to choose between them. I think the buttons could've been a lot simpler as well as interacting with certain things. My two main examples would be the peanut basket and the light switches on the walls. With the peanut basket, I'd press 'left click' to hold it, but if I pressed 'left click' to pick up peanuts, Eki would drop the basketball and pick up the peanuts. It seemed like the only way to put the peanuts in the basket was to have the peanuts in hand and then interact with the basket on the ground. With the light switches, I had to interact with them from a certain angle, which was super tedious. Also, some of the light switches would only turn on if I opened the door next to them, which is annoying. Speaking of door, some of your doors seemed to bug out from time to time. They would open and close on their own. Sometimes, there would even be a delayed door closing sound after I closed a door. And who knows, maybe they being messed with by the unseen ghosts in the game, but I still think it was a bug. Also, cycling through notes could've been better. Having to use the arrow keys was kinda lame, considering A&D would work just as good. As much as I liked the pacing compared to Episode 1, I wish there were moments where I had to survive from a ghost, maybe a stealth section. Episode 1 could've worked in that regard, but the camera plus the controls got in the way of that. Episode 2 worked much better, but lacked any survival mechanics. There's plenty more to say about the game, but I had a good time with it. Check my video below for my full opinion. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bJ3OJypHwsg
Played it on release day but just writing a review now, lol. Solid game — I really enjoyed the story! Though some parts still don’t make much sense to me. Would’ve been cooler with an extra twist on why all the clues point to the mom. Worth to tryyy! You’ll be haunted by curiosity the whole time
