Лично я почилил, прошёл, остался доволен, к чему и призываю)) -------------------------- As much as I swore at the 1st part of the game, I am ready to praise this part as many times. Suddenly, it turned from a platformer into a pleasant puzzle game with (already) normal controls. The levels are pleasant, the soundtrack is high-quality for an 8-bit game, the puzzles themselves will make you think and start syncing the seals, but unlike the first part, none of the above will cause you negativity. Personally, I cleaned up, passed, and was satisfied, which is what I'm calling for))
По сравнению с первой частью игра стала сложней, да и в целом механика игры поменялась. Все также неплохой инди проект на один раз, головоломки действительно сложные. 7 котов в скафандре/10
Alien Cat 2, developed by Repa Games and published by КиКо, is a minimalist yet surprisingly clever puzzle game that builds its entire experience around one deceptively simple concept: movement synchronization. On the surface, it appears to be a basic pixel-art puzzle adventure about collecting coins and avoiding traps, but beneath its simple aesthetic lies a deeply methodical structure that demands foresight, precision, and spatial reasoning. Like many of Repa Games’ other titles, Alien Cat 2 embraces the philosophy of doing more with less, offering a focused and efficient challenge that tests the player’s ability to think several steps ahead rather than rely on reflexes or speed. The premise is straightforward. You guide an alien cat through a series of compact levels, collecting coins scattered across a maze-like environment while avoiding an array of traps—mines, spikes, moving hazards, and other obstacles. The ultimate goal is to gather every coin and reach the exit portal without dying, which sounds easy at first but quickly becomes far more complicated with the introduction of clones. These clones mirror the player’s movements exactly, moving in sync with the original cat. If the cat moves up, so do they; if the cat steps onto a trap, they perish. This mechanic transforms each level into a puzzle that is not only about navigating one character but several at once, forcing players to visualize multiple positions and predict how each movement will affect all of their copies simultaneously. It’s a mechanic that feels intuitive to grasp but tricky to master, and it’s where the game’s true identity emerges. The core challenge of Alien Cat 2 lies in learning how to manipulate space and timing through the clone system. Because every clone moves in the same direction, the player must learn to use walls, corners, and environmental features to stagger their movement or intentionally trap a clone to prevent it from triggering a hazard. This introduces an elegant form of problem-solving where every step has to be deliberate. What seems like a simple movement on one side of the level might send a clone into danger on the other, creating a need for precision and foresight. The result is a rhythm of trial and discovery—players attempt a route, watch how the clones respond, fail, and adjust their approach until everything aligns perfectly. When it all comes together and every cat reaches the goal safely, there’s a quiet satisfaction that feels earned rather than handed to you. The level design reflects this thoughtful structure. Across twenty-two stages, the game gradually increases in complexity, introducing new types of hazards and tighter spaces that force more exact coordination. Early levels are almost instructional, designed to teach the logic of clone synchronization and the importance of spatial awareness. Later stages are much more demanding, filled with narrow corridors, overlapping traps, and coin placements that require multiple layers of strategy. The learning curve is fair but firm—each new challenge builds directly on the principles established in earlier levels. The game’s structure encourages experimentation without punishing failure too harshly; you can restart a level instantly, and there are no arbitrary limits or timers to rush the player. This sense of freedom to experiment, fail, and retry makes Alien Cat 2 feel approachable even when the puzzles grow intricate. Visually, Alien Cat 2 is sparse and functional. The pixel art design is simple but clear, with each element—walls, traps, teleporters, and coins—easily distinguishable at a glance. The minimalist aesthetic allows the puzzles themselves to take center stage without unnecessary distraction. The alien cat and its clones are rendered as small, colorful figures that stand out against the neutral backgrounds, ensuring that the player can always keep track of their positions. The sound design follows a similar philosophy. The background music is modest and repetitive but fits the meditative rhythm of the gameplay. Sound effects are limited to small cues for actions like picking up coins or triggering traps, providing just enough audio feedback to reinforce the mechanical clarity of each move. One of the most satisfying aspects of Alien Cat 2 is how it turns simplicity into challenge. The game never overwhelms the player with mechanics, yet it continually surprises through creative use of its few elements. Each new level feels like a self-contained logic puzzle—a small space filled with traps and clones that interact in just the right way to create moments of revelation. However, this focus on minimalism can also lead to repetition. After the first dozen levels, the formula begins to feel familiar, and while the puzzle design remains clever, the lack of new mechanics limits variety. The levels rely on rearranging familiar hazards rather than introducing new systems or environmental twists. Still, the short playtime works in its favor, ensuring the concept doesn’t outstay its welcome. Most players will complete the game in a couple of hours, making it a compact experience that feels complete within its small scope. Precision is another defining characteristic of the game, for better or worse. Because the clone system is so strict, even a single misplaced step can destroy an entire run. This exactness gives the puzzles a rewarding sense of rigor but can also make them frustrating when small input errors lead to failure. The controls themselves are responsive and immediate, but they demand accuracy—there’s little room for sloppy movement or improvisation. Players who enjoy calculated problem-solving will likely find this deeply engaging, while those looking for a more relaxed or forgiving puzzle experience might find it too exacting. Yet, this tight control scheme is essential to the game’s identity; Alien Cat 2 is less about casual exploration and more about deliberate mastery of its rules. In the end, Alien Cat 2 achieves exactly what it sets out to do. It’s a concise, well-designed puzzle game that builds complexity from a single elegant mechanic and explores that idea to its fullest. There’s no story, no unnecessary fluff, and no distractions—just pure mechanical logic presented through clean design and thoughtful challenge progression. It doesn’t attempt to reinvent the genre, but it refines its chosen concept with focus and care. For players who appreciate cerebral puzzles and methodical thinking, Alien Cat 2 offers a few hours of solid mental engagement wrapped in a modest but charming retro aesthetic. It’s a testament to how minimal design, when paired with tight mechanics and smart level construction, can deliver an experience that feels far more satisfying than its small scale might suggest. Rating: 8/10
Different from the first game in that you're now controlling two cats at once. It's more of a WASD game but you need to pay attention to detail and have a good strategic mind. Not much else is introduced after the first couple of levels and it's mainly just harder maps rather than new obstacles to tackle. 7/10
Really easy puzzle game. Takes about 15 minutes to complete
Continuation for Alien Cat, a puzzle-platformer, yet the whole game idea has changed. In this one, there are multiple cats (2-3) you control at the same time, so it is a brainteaser! Controls have been changed, you move by one block each time you press corresponding key. There are total of 22 or 23 levels. Complete 20 levels to get all achievements, don't have to do anything more. Time to 100%: 35 minutes.
this game is like dark souls 2 if it’s an puzzle game with a tale of two clones of space cats.
