The Legend of Tango is really just a short advertisement for another one of their games. The Legend of Tango wasn't badly designed or anything and has a small amount of slightly amusing humor, but it's pretty much not worth anybody's time at all in my opinion. It REALLY is just a short playable commercial in rpg form that doesn't even give you any idea of what the game they are trying to convince you to buy is really like from what I can tell. Edit: ALSO the small amount of gameplay you see on this review is all it took to finish the whole game. 1/10 Edit 2: I decided to add some more emphasis on the positives. I was a little harsh based on what the game's aim is. The game is designed pretty well. I love the graphics and it plays flawlessly from my experience. I had not experienced a single bug or anything actually wrong technically. In fact I believe the developer could make a really good game based on this very short game. 4/10 for what it really is meant to be.
My Playtime: 0.4h (finished the game)
Intro
The Legend Of Tango is a short game that tells about how Tango Fiesta was born in a medieval setting with some advertisements in it. Pros: Not sure what to say here. Cons: - Some parts of the story don't translate well into the medieval setting Specs Intel Core i5-9300H 2.40GHz, 8GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650
Should you play this game?
No. Why are you playing a free game that is clearly an advertisement for another game?

In-Depth Review

Visuals
The game uses default RPG Maker assets without additional tweaks. There aren't many areas in the game, but the available ones are done well. There aren't many items that can be interacted with in the first place, though.
Story
The story is bland. The game gives a warning that it tells the story of how Tango Fiesta was born, but it feels too general that anyone who has experience in participating in game jam will know roughly how it is. The rest is just an advertisement for Tango Fiesta with some embellishments in fantasy and medieval settings. Despite being made in a medieval setting, some part of the story doesn't translate well; you can roughly tell what happened in real life, but it wasn't good game-wise since it ruined the immersion.
The Game
Gameplay The game is straightforward - you'll know what it wants without it telling anything. Someone appears at your doorstep? Talk to him. People ask you to kill monsters? Kill them. There aren't many interactable objects in the game and the optional ones are mostly used as the developer's space to express their thoughts. It feels more like a diary than anything. The battle is straightforward too. You can basically win everything just by spamming the attack button. Since enemies and your party use game jam-related terms, it can be hard to figure out what you and the enemy can do. However, with the game being short as it is, there is no need to spend additional time learning them. Length and Difficulty My last in-game save clocked in at 18:41:00. The game is easy to beat since it's focused more on the story - you just can spam normal attacks for all fights. Consumables might be limited but you won't need a lot of them in the first place. I myself don't use it at all and can manage to beat the game just fine.
Conclusion
The Legend Of Tango feels more like an advertisement than a game. The story was bland and it wasn't immersive enough to tell about how Tango Fiesta came to be. You might be thinking about what goes through the design process, the obstacles in making the game, and other similar things when it said that it told about how a game was born, but you will find nothing here. The most it'll do is to express it in the form of monsters with the name of the problem that you have to beat in turn-based JRPG style. Heck, the only obstacle that was addressed in dialogue form was some guy touching one of the team members. At the end of the game, it feels too generic to be said as a game that tells the origin of what Tango Fiesta came to be, and both the fantasy and medieval settings just make it more generic than needed. It ends up as an advertisement instead, with it telling you to check out the game at the beginning and the end of your playthrough.

Was really bad. Fed all game and did nothing. He tried to use his sword, but it turned out he was useless at even doing that. -2.5/10, would never play again
No wonder this came out on 9/11. Its like reliving the single worst experience of my life all over again. Plus he fed all game. 1.5/11
Gameplay: Terrible Artwork: Unoriginal Dialog: TOO MUCH!! Humor: Minimal Plugs for the companies other game that costs $12.00: Too many to count. This is not a game. All it is is a playable advertisement to go buy the companies early access game for $12.00. Which isn't even made in RPG Maker. Why would you make a crap game like this with software you don't even use for the game you're trying to get people to buy?! Doesn't make sense to me. Just remember, Tango, Fiesta, and 24.

Really enjoyed it. As someone who has done their fair share of Game Jam's this really speaks to me. It's also free. ♥♥♥♥ the haters.

Fun game 9/10
This was a clever way of doing a "Making of" before the launch of their full game... loved "Feature Creep" and "Imposter Sin-drone" Think a few people may have missed the point of this being a FREE bit of fun on the side of a full game :P Good work, look forward to the full release of Tango
