Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.43/day in the week to Sep 3 → 1.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I really liked the vibe of this one. It is VERY cliche with the whole anime school stuff, but the fact that it takes place while the events of the Crossbell arc is happening in the background feels very unique. The main gameplay loop get repetitive after a while and doesn't really pick up until much later in the game, which feels like a trend in this arc. My biggest gripe with this game is them getting rid of the old orbment system and making it more streamlined. I liked the new combat linking system, though it isn't at its best until the later games. This is weakest cast of the series so far, but they are likeable enough to get some emotional beats through to you at least. The music is noticeably worse in this compared to the previous arcs imo. The finale was great, although I did not like the cliffhanger ending. It truly is a set up game for CS2. Overall 8/10. Its the best CS game to me.
Not the strongest start, but that ending reminded me why Trails is so good
The sixth game of the Legend of Heroes series, and the start of a whole new arc with a whole new cast. It took me a bit to adjust since I got so attached to the Crossbell and Sky characters, but Class VII slowly grew on me the more I played. I was not a fan of the new quartz/orbment system at all. Compared to how the Sky arc handled quartz and arts, this new setup just felt clunky and overly complicated for not that much payoff, and it took away some of the enjoyment I had building characters the way I liked. I get that its brand new arc and they made the game 3D and testing the waters on the quartz stuff but it felt off the whole time for me but it was acceptable since I adjusted to it. The pacing was such slow cook but the ending reminded me of why I am really hooked to this series in general. it picked up the pace just in the right moment, and to show off all that world building was worth the experience and the time spent.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Ok now that's my feeling about the ending off my chest, Trails of Cold steel is an amazing transition of this franchise from 2D to 3D even if there's rough edge that need to be trim off. And talking about starting new because holy ♥♥♥♥ I love this setting so much even if the story at so many point left a lot to be desires and chapter loops start to get repetitive near the end. Gameplay-wise it's slight more of a mix bag with some change I welcome and some change that I don't. Combat link for example is an amazing upgrade from combo attack in previous game, meanwhile I'm not a big fans of how orbal set up work now. In terms of story, this is such a strong start to the saga, I would even goes so far as to say it left me wanting more stronger than both FC and Zero. I love the academy setting, the cast and they really make Erebonia as a place come to life, it's genuinely amazing despite a few short coming like less than stellar character link system.
This is my first Trails game series. I have had this game since 2018 and just finished it in 2026. I tried to remember why I bought it long ago and why I didn’t finish it. As a Persona series fan, I was looking for another JRPG with a school setting and social links, and Trails of Cold Steel was recommended to me. That's why I played this game. Later, I discovered it had different mechanics from other classic JRPGs. The most notable is Combat Points, which manage battles and can significantly change your approach. It also involves magic (Arts) using Energy Points, with enemies having elemental weaknesses so you need to choose the right Arts. Stronger Arts take longer, which delayed my turns. This mechanic initially made me stop playing, even on normal difficulty, and I still struggled to grasp it. It's now 2026, and I finished the game on Hard difficulty. I believe I’ve now learned how to understand and enjoy this mechanic. Turns out, it’s not complicated; just draw on your JRPG experience, read the game’s explanations for Arts and skills, and analyze each enemy’s weaknesses to exploit them. Now that I’ve completed it, I need to finish the entire Trails series to learn about Zemuria’s fate. Later, I might replay New Game+ to unlock all the Steam achievements.
good series
Played this one back in October and never left a review, but after getting back into the series with Azure, I decided to come back and tell you to play this game. I went into CS1 expecting a bad game. The popular opinion around this one seems to be that it's poorly paced, that the characters are worse than in previous games, that playing this after Crossbell feels like torture. And I'll tell you, most of it is true. However, Trails of Cold Steel is still a fantastic game despite all of that. They say comparison is the thief of joy, and yeah, while this game, to me, doesn't feel like it ever reaches the storytelling heights of Trails in the Sky SC or Trails to Azure, it is a setup game, just like Trails in the Sky FC was back at the beginning of the series. The gameplay is the most enjoyable yet, and you are presented with a multitude of new characters that, while not all may be stellar, you grow to like. The setting is not as immediately enthralling as Crossbell, but it was great to finally see Erebonia from within, both literally and figuratively. The game takes its time so that you learn about the political situation in the Empire, which you see firsthand from Rean's and his classmates' perspectives. Overall I enjoyed this game and I'm glad to see that Trails doesn't "derail" after Crossbell. In fact, I'm extremely hyped to see what comes next in the Cold Steel arc once I'm done with Azure.
probably the weakest entry so far but chapter 4 onwards gets very intresting, the setting of erebonia has its nice moments
