The Last Warlock

I picked this up expecting very little, but The Last Warlock genuinely surprised me — the turn-based tactical gameplay is deeper than it looks, with a satisfying loop of summoning creatures, crafting gear, and adapting your strategy to each handcrafted level. Flying around on a griffin while strafing enemies with a bow, or building out a zombie front line with wraiths, the game constantly rewards experimentation. The voxel art style is simple but it works — everything reads clearly on the battlefield, and there's a charming quality to it that grows on you. It's clearly inspired by the old Lords of Chaos, and it captures that spirit really well while being more accessible. For the price, this is an easy recommendation for anyone who enjoys turn-based tactics.

Мы отыгрываем призывателя, который при помощи разнообразных призываемых монстров сражается с дикими монстрами и другими призывателями, параллельно собирая ценности на отдельных картах. Есть прокачка призывателя, но увеличивать есть смысл только количество маны; есть любопытные по особенностям монстры, но практически нет интересных тактических решений; есть крафтинг, но можно было обойтись без него; интерфейс не слишком удобен, игра до сих пор сбрасывает при запуске на Windows 10 тему оформления рабочего стола. Рекомендую только со скидкой 80%

Lords of Chaos, version 2.0 :)

Many reviews here will tell you what kind of game this is. I will simply tell you why it fills a particular need for me. As an adult who loves games, I don't have much time during the work week to meet people online to play. I also have quite a few friends in the same situation. So, I look for games that are asynchronous, meaning that we can all play a turn when we have the time. The Last Warlock provides that, at no expense to the experience. In fact, this isn't the kind of game where you would want to wait around for someone, or a few people, to finish their turn. So, it's great that I can play my turn when I have time, and then get an email notification when my turn is ready. I get a replay of all the action, and then I can leisurely act on my strategy. Like I said before, I won't go into all the details about why this game is so good, but I'll highlight one: Multiplayer games are a dynamic and thoughtful experience. Each warlocks' spells are randomized. You can set the arena randomly too. There are spells which can cause random effects that change terrain in meaningful ways. The end result is that you have to think on your feet. There is no one strategy that will win you the game. If you like turn based competition, and don't have a lot of time, I highly recommend this game.

Un sympathique petit jeu tactique où vous explorer des donjons, résolvez des énigmes simples, collectionnez de nouvelles créatures à invoquer à vos côtés pour des combats au tour par tour. Dommage qu'il n'y a pas de quêtes/donjons générés aléatoirement car sinon il pourrait être encore plus intéréssant !
