TLDR

Buy it on sale
Weak story mode, but sandbox mode is fun.
Easy game to past time.
Post-apocalyptic Oregon trail on a train w/o random events.
Review I waited to buy this game until it went on sale. The features and previews looked great but the lack of reviews made me hesitate. I picked it up for under $5 during the Steam Summer 2022 sale. The graphics on the game are perfectly fine for this type of game. I enjoy that it lets you also choose different train presets. First thing I did was try the story mode. The story mode is really just the sandbox mode, but every now and then you are stopped to be told about your "story" by the female narrator. The narrator was very loud and obnoxious, there was no option to turn it off. The story was straightforward and dull. It took me maybe two or three hours to finish it. There's no set goals to reach in the story mode. At some point the amount of passengers or length of time in the game will just trigger the next cut scene. The sandbox mode is just the same game without the annoying narrator. It is a fun, Oregon trail style-esque game. You are a conductor that travels from state to state, picking up passengers and transporting them cross country. In return for you transporting them, they will pay you with food or supplies. You can use the supplies to upgrade your train and the food to maintain health, which allow you to pick up more passengers and thus creates an infinite cycle. You do not get any random events in the game that help or hinder you, which honestly would have been a great way to spice things up. There is also a side "exploration" and "crafting" aspect which is interesting enough. The straightforward cycle gameplay and lack of events does make the game feel a bit monotonous after a while. This is the type of game I would play if I was sick/tired/bored and didn't want to really have to think about the mechanics. Buy it, but buy it on sale.
it's a bit rough, but with some polish and QoL adjustments the game has the potential to be a great survival!
Poměrně nenáročná survival hra se zasazením do AU (alternative universe), kdy byly svrženy atomové bomby na USA. Zábava na nějakou tu chvíli. A za ty peníze, proč ne. Ve slevě určitě supr hra u níž si odpočinete. Ale nečekejte nic převratného.
