For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.

About

In a desperate move to end all wars that have been rampaging the world for decades, the mages provoked The Cataclysm. Massive balls of pure magic obliterated nearly everything. A strange purple mist propagated everywhere, with hordes of bloodthirsty mutants coming at night.
Our only hope is now to banish all magic from this accursed world by casting The Last Spell, requiring several days of uninterrupted incantation whilst a few strained Heroes try to protect those damned mages.

The Last Spell is a tactical RPG with roguelite elements in which you have to defend a city against hordes of deadly enemies.
During daytime, prepare your Heroes, carefully choose how to rebuild your Haven and position your defenses. Over the night, exterminate all the monsters coming at your walls with a large range of weapons and skills. Then heal, level up, and repeat until the Magic Seal is broken.

Turn-Based Tactical RPG:
● The whole RPG package: a flurry of stats, skills, perks, traits… and more.
● Tons of items: armors, weapons, trinkets and potions… with their own stats and skills, as well as optional random modifiers. Each weapon has its own skillset and playstyle!
● Build your own classes: upgrade your heroes with stat bonuses and perks, and equip whatever gear you wish. Want to make a glass cannon rogue/mage fighting with a gun? Do it!
● Manage your squad of heroes: they’re strong, but they are few and have access to limited resources. Healing and mana are scarce, so try to find a good balance.
Hordes of Evil:
● Think and adapt: you will face swarms of deadly enemies with only a few hardened heroes. Optimize your positioning and plan your actions: big AOE attacks, crowd control, buffs, poison... Every Action Point counts towards another day of survival.
● Enemies have strengths and weaknesses that will challenge your wits. And because hard is not enough for us, be prepared for the terrifying Elites!
● Each map will end with epic fights against unique mind-bending bosses.
Protect the Haven:
● Rebuild the city to help you in-between fights. Get healed, forge new magical weapons, get new heroes. Spend your resources wisely, commander!
● Build up your defenses: walls, traps, towers, catapults… every tiny bit of help is welcome.
● Protect the Magic Circle at all costs! If you lose it, humanity is doomed.
● 5 Havens to protect, each with their own setup and challenges requiring you to tailor your strategy to beat the Great Evil.
Roguelite Elements:
● The game is meant to be hard. You will fail… A lot. But every time you do, you’ll grow harder, better, faster, stronger!
● Procedurally generated enemy waves, characters, weapons and a ton of unlockables will keep you entertained until the real world collapses.
● Tailor each run thanks to the Omens: a limited amount of bonuses that can be picked for the upcoming run. Do you prefer more Action Points, more characters, sturdier defenses, better loot? Experiment to find your preferred tools of destruction.
● Scale the difficulty to your liking, with 6 levels of Apocalypse to entertain even the most hardcore players.
Headbanger Soundtrack:
● Over 25 tracks of thunderous synths-driven progressive metal to guide you through this joyous slaughterfest
● Composed by the incredible Rémi - The Algorithm - Gallégo

Reviews
I'm very early in, so I'll update my review after playing more if needed. But initially, the game is good. Better than I expected, as I thought it was a real-time tower defense, not turn-based. The turn-based is way more favorable for me. The only thing so far that I think would've made the game 10000x better would have been to allow you to create and customize your 3 starting heroes entirely - picking their traits, starting weapons, etc. It'd be a minor change but would just make the game so much smoother. Getting heroes with completely terrible disadvantages just feels bad to the point I find myself wanting to abandon and restart each run until I get something that isn't so disastrous. For example: Got a warrior/mace dude, has two negative traits that each lower his max HP. Broski is sitting at like half the HP of the archers. So I ended up just putting one of the bows from the archers on him, now he's an archer. So it's really not all that consequential, but it's just a stupid nuisance that could be avoided. Let people start the game how they want. Player wants to go in with 3 identical heroes just for fun? Let them. Don't give them random BS that I have to work around. Reviews say the game is difficult - and obviously singleplayer - so what's the harm in letting us build a party how we want? If that were implemented, so far at like 2 nights in (which is absolutely nothing, granted), I'd give the game an initial 9/10. But without that, it drops it down to a 7/10. Still pretty great, but suffers from that sole choice.

It's a cool game, but I can't recommend. The game is a turbo roguelike where the heroes are randomized, the hero level ups are randomized (including perks and stats), and the weapons and armor are randomized in two different ways, and the waves are randomized. The effect of all of this is that you have to study each and every little item or level up option and it slows the game down to a fossilized snail's pace (it would already be slow enough since combat is TRPG style against hundreds of enemies). The game is also has extreme difficulty spikes. The waves might be manageable but bosses throw in completely different mechanics suddenly and the wave spawns continue infinitely at the same rate as they do normally. The game seems to want you to leave your base to get near the bosses as the bosses like to spawn outside of the range of any weapon except the long bow (even that requires speccing into more range), but at the same time there are so many enemies spawning in that being fully surrounded is almost certainty. The devs seem to know they made the base game too hard for all but the most dedicated folks as well since there's a penalty free easy mode button that lets you use every single positive map modifier simultaneous.
Fun game and great music!
Keeps freezing at the end of the second tutorial mission during the cut scene. Tried multiple times and each time it freezes during it, forcing me to alt+f4 out, which erases my progress in the fight.
I've played over 100 hours of this game across Steam and PS5. And I can say this is the most innovate tactical turn based game of the past decade. The Last Spell weaves together XCOM with tower defense in a way I never would have thought possible. PROS - Constant edge of your seat turn based action - Mechanics all feel fair and very well balanced - A solid meta progression system that will keep you engaged for a long time - Great boss design CONS - Runs can take 2+ hours, tradeoff for so much depth in the game - K&M highly recommended, game is difficult to play on gamepad (but doable) - It felt like if I advanced too fast through the levels late game I hit a meta-progression grind wall. It looks like the devs have included an optional unlimited perk system to address this though (haven't tried to use it yet)
Disgaea, Final Fantasy Tactics, Fallout tactics, Gorky 17, The Battle for Wesnoth
