About

The Last Case of John Morley thrusts players into the shoes of detective John Morley in the gritty, noir atmosphere of the 1940s. After spending several months recovering in the hospital from injuries sustained during his last case, Morley returns to his office, only to be visited by the enigmatic Lady Margaret Fordside, an English countess haunted by a tragic past.

Lady Fordside engages Morley to investigate the unsolved murder of her daughter, which occurred on a fateful night 20 years ago. The police had closed the case by arresting scapegoats, but the countess is convinced that the real killer remains at large.
What begins as a quiet look into an old case becomes a haunting investigation into forgotten places and long-hidden truths that refuse to stay buried.

First-Person Investigation – Explore richly detailed environments, from eerie mansions to abandoned sanatoriums, searching for hidden clues.
Immersive 1940s Atmosphere – A gripping noir-style story, enhanced by a haunting soundtrack and period-accurate settings.
A Suspenseful Storyline – A linear, 3-hour narrative-driven experience filled with unexpected twists and a shocking finale that will linger long after the game ends.

Explicitly using AI slop for the art - major L. lame ahh game
Bought on sale because it looked interesting and right up my alley, hadn't looked into it too much and realised a little too late that it is 99% AI made. It had potential to be something great but realising the devs were too lazy to use their brains and hands to actually make something and just handed every piece of creation off to AI makes this a dissapointment. Making a game from scratch is hard but not impossible, and could've truly easily been done without using AI, as the internet is full of creative people who love to volunteer to help projects they like or just to add things to their resume. 0/10.

BADASS
The screenshots got me - they're atmospheric and they show the type of dark games I just love. But the game itself feels unfinished and falls short on its promises. I must get this out of my chest first - the voice acting is just terrible. Whether it's AI or just bad voice actors, the VO just doesn't convey any emotions and feels like a torture to listen to. The worst is Lady Margaret's... Damn, the phrase "my daughter was brutally murdered" performed by her VA will haunt me for weeks or maybe even months. Lady Margaret says everything, even the most dreadful things, with far less emotions than a mother reading her child a bedtime story! Whatever she says sounds like she's just having the most boring tea party! Apart from the worst VO I ever heard in a video game, The Last Case of John Morley would be a nice game for its price - if only it didn't feel so unfinished. It seems like the devs reached the point where the game just can be played from start to finish and decided to release it like that. Throughout the whole story there are so many noticeable shortcomings: improper sounds used (i.e., for whatever the reason every door seems to have a different sound and many locked doors have a sound of... an opening door), graphical bugs, weird level design choices... And virtually no puzzles, except one at the beginning of the game. Oh, and, seriously, "sanatorium" and "asylum" are two different things, so don't use them as synonyms. Sanatorium is a place where people treat PHYSICAL and usually prolonged illnesses, asylum is a place where people are treated for their MENTAL health issues. The story starts okay, but as we further explore the very few locations in the game, we are met with weird, unauthentic story thropes and design choices that seem to exist there only to allow us to finish the game instead of telling an actually good story. The idea for the story was there, but the devs failed to deliver the proper execution. The "twist" that happens at the end doesn't explain the missed purpose of many events that we experience throughout the story. The optimization is okay - the game runs pretty good on epic settings on my 6 years old PC. Considering its price, I didn't expect much, but still I feel I was let down. It is simply bad and unfinished. The only moderately good thing is a not so bad atmosphere. We explore an abandoned mansion, an abandoned asylum - nothing new, but overall they look okay. There are many games cheaper than this one that give much better experiences...
Et me voilà maintenant déçue.
