Even though the graphics looks good, the controls ruin the experience. A vital aspect of the game is clicking on written clues to add them to your investigation journal, but the problem is that you can't click it. The hit boxes of the texts are not centered to the text on screen, meaning you have to move around until you hopefully find it. This also has another layer of annoyance as my mouse randomly decided to glitch across the screen, meaning when I finally found the hit box I could not click it. I was able to progress in the game, but the problem that couldn't be avoided from those hitboxes and glitching is turning pages. I quickly realized I could not turn the page and thus not progress the story and finish the game, which is very sad since I wanted to give it a chance and exprience a short game in a genre I really like :(
A 30 minute, low-budget, free Idol-like! It's clear to my SUPER SLEUTHING SKILLS that this game is a prototype for a bigger game based on the same system. Hopefully that bigger game gets made! I liked the low-fi, dithered graphics. I feel the game is trying to bridge the gap between Obra Dinn and Golden Idol. Hopefully the future version unifies both styles into the next transcendental investigation game. Below are things meant for the developer, and as such contain spolilers for this short game: * 3 save slots? What is this, Mario?! Seems overkill for a 30 minute game? :) * It started in a strange resolution, and that resolution seemed to break the mapping between mouse cursor and menu scale and hit position. I managed to get into the video menu but changing it was beyond my blind-mousing skills. Hitting `alt + enter` to go into windowed mode seemed to fix the mapping and help me navigate the menus. (The menus don't implement keyboard control - if they did I could have used that to fix the resolution) * Rookie mistake: It gives you a 2 page letter, but after collecting the 3 clues on the first page, it then tries to send you to the rest of the tutorial talking about flashlights. The game should have a 4th clue on the back, to teach people to flip. Some people might not notice the swirly arrow (terrible detectives) and some might think it deletes the note or something. So force them to press it. * street numbers, but no street signs? * Lots of zfighting in the building windows. * I could see the point-light you left above 59's alleyway :) * When I pick something up, tell me briefly what it is. Don't make me open the inventory unless I want the full description. * Whilst going into the inventory to use the key on the door is a fine choice, maybe prompt the player to do that when pressing "E" on the door when we have the key in our inventory? * The interaction box for the bin by the fridge was tiny. You had to be on the exact coordinate for it to work. * I would like to be able to open fridges and all the drawers, even if there's nothing in them. As you can open the oven, and the one "important" drawer. * The interaction spots for the chest of drawers by the desk is derpy. It's letting me target the bottom drawer when the middle is open, which makes it look like I could pick up whatever was in taht middle drawer. * The game neglects to tell me what day it is. This is presumably something my character would know. The phone says 31/05, despite it clearly being in October. * The phone music didn't work :) * The light source "inside" the player is visible in wooden floor reflections and computer monitor, and the wierdly large mirror. * In an email: "What you absolutely cannot where" -- then again, maybe the boss made that typo in-universe!? * I feel like the bathroom was an intentional nod to Shadows Of Doubt? * The shower screen door has a stone-on-stone sound when opening, which is odd * The player should have to input how they found out the solution (i.e. handwriting). And an all-or-nothing approach is a bit draconian. Obra Dinn and Golden Idol settled on their various 3-lock-in systems for a reason!

Short murder mystery. It was alright experience.
このへんのシステムは『The Case of the Golden Idol』あたりからの影響とおぼしい。
It's free and decently made, although the conclusion was incredibly obvious and predictable from the start. I recommend it if you want to kill some time, that's about it.
"Conscience" is yet another amateur made first person adventure game on Steam, although this one at least doesn't rely on jumpscares from an asset flipped monster. It's a detective murder mystery where you do a few little escape room like puzzles to work out why an apparent suicide wasn't. I'm not sure if this is an asset flip, but it's one of those cases where the assets just look much better than the rest of the quality of the game... a glaring inconsistency. There's no evidence, but as always, the biggest problem with asset flips besides the plagiarism is the deplorably low quality of the other aspects of the game, and even if the game assets are genuinely created for the game, the quality of the rest of the game is indistinguishable from that of asset flips. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. Most "free" games on Steam aren't really free. There's usually some kind of monetisation, from nasty mobile app cash shops, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, to any other number of shady pricing schemes that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable, or something you might want to spend your time on. In terms of public reception, this failed. There's over 130 million unique gamers visiting Steam every month. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 15 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Since free games don't contribute to your game collector badge and other profile stuff, is this a worthwhile addition to your Steam library? This one scores a "nope". While it won't necessarily cost you money, the time and hard drive space it requires could be better invested in one of the many higher-quality alternatives on Steam.
