The game requires you to think a little more than most farming or collecting games because you have limited space and energy. The alchemy mechanics can be kind of complicated at first but they are fun and better than most other game mechanics I've played. I would say it is probably closest to potion porter's alchemy mechanics
Dommage. L'univers est plaisant dans l'ensemble.
Cozy fun and enjoyable
I have completed all the achievements so I guess i can review the game. Before you actually buy the game because of my thumbsup, please see below: I will say that I will recommend the game if its price around $5 - $10. It is not worth $18. So only get it if its on sale. Basic gameplay - 4/10 - It's actually alright. Inventory management is very old school and depends on drag and drop. Not the most optimized, however it is functionable. Movement is just classic and very in character. Storyline - 7/10 - Doesn't drag on too long but provides milestones for progress. It is also kinda simple and gives a lot of room for thoughts. I think this game is very well suited for kids generally! Alchemy Gameplay - ?/10 - I can see the developer put in a LOT of effort in developing the alchemy system. Now the reason I add ? for the rating is because there is potential for this mechanic but its complexity doesn't fit with the simplicity of the game's storyline.
The alchemy gameplay is generally a puzzle game. The game does NOT hand hold you through so you have to figure out the recipes on your own. That's the whole idea of the game - to think like an alchemist. Try and fail until you get the result you need with the rss available. If you actually need a guide, you're probably not playing the game as intended. (unless its to find certain plants than thats understandable) Some elements are not compatible which you can use the telescope to avoid the waste of essense. The main storyline is rather easy if you simply collect most ingriedients as each area unlocks and use said elements to make the essence you need. The wasted potential is the combination of elements that can lead to something more! A lot of people might complain on the redundant resources that are not used even to the end (actually, they are used in furniture for the achievement) and the telescope mechanic that seems rather pointless - (will save your butt when you try to get the achievement for 60 tiles essense) The shape of each essence and the combination to ensure it doesn't explode while still alowing the fusion is the true purpose of the telescope. It's a hidden gem of a mechanic. The flexibility of the fusions while balancing out the shape of elements and stability... All this was made but not really used in the main story. In fact I didn't really care until I was doing the acheivement then it pique my interest. But I'm already at the end of the game... 8/10 for the mechanic (could be optimized) & 1/10 for implementation of said mechanic.
Cons - I hate construction - 0/10 It's super unneeded. I get that everyone is dead leaving me and one other person alive but seriously?? Why do I have to create so much paper?? I have a perfectly fine notebook (the journal) here I can rip the paper out from. This is just a time waster. Rather than wasting my rss making a cabinet or 3 I just piled everything on the floor. It feels redundant other than those required by the quest. Final Thoughts: Its a good game for kids to play. The storyline is simple (and touches on certain topics without getting too deep into it, giving some room for thought), the puzzles are fairly decent and helps train a patient & resilient mindset and the gameplay (walking around to observe the environment) engages the players. However, definitely not worth the current price.
It is a cute little cozy game, I would recommend it. I really liked the potion puzzles, which are sometimes a bit challenging, but not too hard.
Цікава головоломка. Неспішна і цікава. Намальована гарно.
This game made me put in some real brain muscle at several points. I considered not finishing because the whole alchemy system was complicated, confusing and left me with unanswered questions. But I stuck with it and it made more and more sense each time I ground materials and concocted new combinations. The animation is quite beautiful, I loved meditating in front of a window and enjoying that brief time of silence watching the sun rays float magically around the Alchemist. The Agari are adorable, the conversation was easy to absorb and kept pretty short. I really enjoyed discovering all the materials and I thought the design of the elements (both the square formula designs and the containers) were uniquely charming. I would love to see an expansion or sequel of a game like this. More world and new things to explore, more depth to the story, maybe through the lens of an Agari reincarnation or the Alchemist's apprentice. An Agari apprentice, perhaps?! Complaints: Storage. Good golly a better storage system would have been amazing. I'm a hoarder by nature and this game forced me to reduce my collection to a more manageable size so that I didn't have items scattered EVERYWHERE. The storage containers are annoying to build because I had a hard time getting enough clay without really dragging out playtime, and they don't provide much storage for all the stuff you get and make. I had a hard time getting used to not jumping, I like being able to jump. I get it and I was able to appreciate the game for what it is though - walking around things instead of bulldozing my way over everything. The farming aspect could have been more promising and I could have experimented more with that, but I believe only one mushroom *needs* to be grown for the sake of the story. To summarize, I see so much potential that could pile on top of the great foundation this game has, I enjoyed my playtime with only occasional frustration. I didn't need to depend on any outside sources and I enjoyed that, discovering a game entirely on my own is always a good time. I think the potential I am seeing would maybe move the game more into the realm of the popular farm/adventure rpg's we see so much of and while I do love those games, this game is charming and entertaining in it's current form.
A wonderful little game. The mushroom folk are absolutely adorable. My mind is lagging a bit when it comes to formulas - use the microscope, don't be a dummy like me) Some more music wouldn't hurt though. I don't mind the repetative tunes, but some may find it annoying. I also wish there were more interactions with the shrooms. More barks and banter.
I have not been able to stop playing this game. While it's a bit frustrating at times with the lack of guides, the puzzle of figuring out the different formulas is a blast. Balancing resources, using time well all add to the gameplay
I enjoyed this game. I can see how it's not for everyone and after beating it I have my notes. But this game did scratch a certain itch for me. If you have a slight interest in chemistry but just want a Minecraft/Lego fantasy version of it, then this is the game for you. It feels like a passion project by someone who doesnt normally make games. Or someone who had a good idea but not a big team to pull it all off. With all of that said, I would love to see more like this. I support this idea and want some sort of game that continues this alchemical idea. The story is kinda weak, and the end is very lack luster, but the journey is fun. Trying to figure out the correct combination of elements is fun. you have to progress kinda far to get the full fun of ripping apart and combing things, but once youre there its very rewarding to finally get the right mixture. Last note, take the time to build the stuff in between missions. its kinda annoying, but youll thank yourself later. i beat the game with almost nothing built, i thought i was only halve way done...
