About
Lured in by shared nightmares, madmen travel to a remote island crowned by a silent Tower. No one remembers the journey.
The Lantern of the Laughless Saint is an open world RPG built around exploration and connection. You learn the land by walking it, following rumors, reading scraps of burned history, and meeting lost souls who wandered to the ends of the Earth, following the same feverish dream of a light buried beneath the Tower.
Somewhere in the depths is a theater with an empty stage, waiting for an audience. As you repair or ruin the lives of the island's inhabitants, the phantoms they leave behind take their seats in the audience. The more seats you fill, the more the island listens, and the greater the applause for your final act.
And if you don’t want to descend alone, you don’t have to. The entire game is fully playable in co-op: explore the island together, delve into the depths for treasures, and make the choices that will decide the fate of everyone on the island, and beyond...
A wild, ancient island to explore
Follow leads, find shortcuts into the Tower, stumble into side stories, and piece together what is real and what is mere delusion.
Open Ended
Most quests have multiple resolutions. Mercy, violence, compromise, deceit.
A large cast of bizarre characters
Many strange folk find their home on the island. A giant toad learning to read. An ancient skeleton who just wants to swim. A musician from a faraway land hunts for something precious. Everyone has a theory for why you’re here. None of them agree.
The Amphitheater
Your choices change the world. Treat others with kindness and generosity, and a trusted friend will take their seat in your audience. Fail or abuse them, and something darker takes their place. The House fills either way.
Visceral Combat with multiple weapon types
Punchy combat against strange horrors
Full co-op
Play the whole game together. Explore the world, share the spoils, and decide who you will become, because the consequences belong to all of you.
The Tower does not call the whole. It calls the broken, the wanting.
Fill the seats. Start the performance. Find out what is buried at the bottom of the well.

I had a lot of fun with this game. I played it mostly with my dad and we have fun with all of it. We are both huge Open World RPG fans and while this game isn't perfect, it is really good! Neither of us finished it, but we did see most of the island. There is a lot to do and see, well worth the price.
A very captivating experience; it's clear a lot of inspiration is drawn from Morrowind. The vague main storyline and time worn, dilapidated setting remind me of the souls games too. The soundtrack is great, and the enviornments are generally quite beautiful. The enemy variety is sort of lacking, especially for higher levels, but the total quanity of content is still pretty respectable for it being in early access. Goated marketing too. Worth the price no doubt.

I haven’t felt the lost and confused playing a game in years… I love it. The lack of quest markers is so refreshing, I really feel like the devs trust me to explore and progress the story on my own.
The first four hours of the game have been an absolute delight to experience. The worldbuilding and combat are both exactly what I wanted from a fantasy game in the elder scrolls style. Quality of life features are great too,
morrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!
Jumped 10,000 feet into the air landed on a frog and killed us both. 10/10
10/10! I love this game! It really does make me feel like I am in a new world similar to ESIV Oblivion but different feel and the combat feel more impactful similar to Outward. GG! Highly Recommend!
regarding "what is the early access" statement, the EA state for most of the games is the state, where game is finished, but usually lacks some content, have minor balance issues, and missing some of QoL stuff. This is what EA state means. And overall, in terms of steps of readiness of the game you have: pre-alpha -> alpha -> beta -> demo -> EA -> full release. The most common ones. And this game actually feels like an alpha for now, when basically half of the main quest releated stuff is unbeatable due to a tons of bugs, not mentioning that half of mechanics doesn't work or just missing for now. you basically paid the money to be a free manual QA, and looking how guys are creating a bug reports - it's actually like this.
Old School Vibes mit modernen Features, macht Laune
What is on the box just now: I believe the starting hub has enough missions you can have fun with, but most of the isle is empty. It does have crazy encounters. What is everywhere is ruins (some of them truly amazing, other more generic) and a very low poly dense jungle. You will get your fun from using the skills provided to hunt and make your character stronger and be able to survive to encounters. Is kinda a Gothic game in that sense wher exploration can let you find things you did not know where there, and become from very weak, very powerful. But theres not much more, has far has I can see, the game is kinda a low poly low budget game with early access levels of content. This may be enough for you, for this one I am clicking "Yes, recomended", but for people willing to explore a isle for the sake of exploration, not for the rpg-ness.
